WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE JOB ???

Okay, I seem to be on a question kick this week. I came across another fun question and thought I'd give it a go. Seems to be appropriate for a Monday...

"What jobs have you had in your life? Which did you like best?"

And I mean any job, from lemonade stand to paper route to CEO of some corporation.

My own personal employment history ranges from babysitting, to driving an ice-cream truck, to working at an ice-arena, followed by Street Department road crew and Interior Designer (among others).
Money not withstanding, I'd have to say that my favorite job was working at the ice arena (or maybe I'm just fondly remembering my youth). In any event, I couldn't believe I was getting paid to skate around in circles on the ice!

And so, what about you?

What jobs have you had and which did you like best?

cashier at Winn-Dixie - did not like the job, but LOVED my co-workers!

PCT at a dialysis clinic - This was probably my favorite job - It felt really good knowing that I was helping the 100+ patients that we had, and I made a habit of getting to know every single one of them. My father was a patient at the same clinic before he died so I knew how the staff was before I started working there and I made a promise to myself that I would not treat the patients the same way they treated my father. Of course it was hard to cater to everyone on a one on one basis, but I did my best. The only downside to the job was becoming attached to the patients and seeing them pass away ... it was like losing a family member. :(

Eligibility Specialist at a TPA - This was a great job also....it was fun, easy, and my co-workers were great.

Loss prevention at Filene's, for 6 years I dressed like a customer and caught shoplifters and dishonest employees all day.

Currently I work at an all woman's college so that isn't too bad either. :P

My teenage years being a lifeguard at the local pool. I was 16-22. Nothing like it in the world...

Waiting tables at Bennigans after college was not bad either....

My favorite job would have to be when I worked for a musical instrument store called Veneman Music (aka Music Emporium). I wasn't a salesperson, so I wasn't concerned about commissions or feeling pressured to sell stuff. I got to mess around with a lot of cool gear, got good deals on stuff I wanted and made a lot of good friends. It was the perfect job for that point in my life.

A close second would be when I worked at a CD store called Waxie Maxies in my late teens. It was just the right balance of having a cool job while having damn near zero responsibility.

Jet ski stuntman, 1996 - Present. In college most people would go home to wait tables or tend bar during the summers. I'd go off to do jet ski shows in waterparks around the world. Some buddies and I still do 2-3 local shows a year.
