My first thought was makeup, too.

Doing their nails
Haircare (coloring/cutting, etc..)
Bathing/Showering (washing their hair)

But if they multi-task - scrub the floors, clean the bathroom, vacuum, dust - then it doesn't seem like the laundry takes so long.
