I have been using it for over a year, with a lot of success. It is all voice driven, so you can get caught in bad loops occasionally. However, for free you can't beat it.
Tried it a couple of times, worked pretty good for what we needed. As for the new browser, I got as far as the 40 page comic introducing it. Where's the link to download it? Or isn't it yet publicly available? I'd expect Google to make a pretty good web browser, so I'm kinda excited about seeing it.
Just downloaded it. Trying it. Doesn't hog up a lot of space with toolbars. Of course I probably haven't learned to customize yet. My laptop scroll only goes down but not up. Not sure what is causing that.

If you send a text to google.com from your cell you will be set up with google's free text message 411. It will ask you your zip code, you can change this for different towns if you travel. Then you text google and request the number you want, you can also go by category and get maps.
Navy Seals are Cooler then Pirates You Can Dream Anyway, There's always next year!!!
Another good info service is ChaCha (chacha.com). You can text a question to 242242, and live people take your question, search the internet for an answer, then you get a text message back.
"If your carrier or phone company sends us your phone number, which happens in most (but not all) cases, we will collect and store the phone number, along with the time and duration of your call and the options you select, each time you use the GOOG-411 service. We use the phone number we collect to operate and audit our service. We may also use your phone number to distinguish you from other users, and ultimately, to personalize the service to you."
