Comcast Center - Gates open at 11:00

Post by Steele1161 »

I was just at the Comcast Center.

There is a sign in front that says "Parking lots open at 11:00"

Tried to park car and go home, but they are not letting anyone in

As of 9:00, there were 2 cars in line at the entrance.

I wonder how long the line will form before they open the gates

If you don't have tickets can you park in one of the outer pay lots and roll a cooler in?

The question was, can you park at the outside lots when they open and walk in with a cooler?

I think so but think you would need to prove that you are meeting someone in the lot.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

I have parked in the ouside lots before for Buffett and there no problem bringing in a very small cooler. There was no one checking tickets from whose walking into the lot.

The reason they check tickets from whose drive in is that about 10 years ago they actually filled the lots, it was the first time they had ever done that for a concert there. they were parking people where ever they could fit cars. Friends had to park in the circular driveway area where the Margaritaville Shrimp bus parks now. They knew that people were going there and parking who had no tickets just to party. The tickets used to say something to the effect $1 parking charge included. Needless to say people were unhappy when they were turned away as they argument was why should they have to pay for an outside lot when there parking was already paid for in there ticket. The following year friends tried to bring a dump type truck with a hot tub on it and were turned away from the Great Woods lot and had to park outside.

In the past people have said they were allowed in after the told them tickets were at will call. I would bring a receipt that shows you have purchesed them to be on the safe side.

UPDATE:

The Lots opened up at exactly 11:00. They had people driving up an down the street in front of the Comcast Center until 11:00 when they opened.

Expect the same on Saturday.

I was hoping to park in the front section in front of the VIP lot, but they told me I could not.

Only Parrothead Club members with a "Sticker" are allowed to park there. That is LOT 6. All others, including myself (maybe its time to join), were sent to the left and parked in LOT 10 (On the side near the second stage)

Are you actually in the lots now? Where they checking tickets and what about the alcohol policy, any change from the last few years?

Usually the first cars part on the right close to the RV section....this year they send you to the back lot AKA no mans land!

No grills  what did they think people would get there at 11am and order takeout?
