Actually, that's not a bad idea. Take the computer out of the equation. If all they want to do is browse the web and send/receive email, find them an internet alternative, e.g. an internet "appliance" (the Wii for example, set up with a keyboard will let you browse the net and send/receive email via the TV ...... I'm sure there are other "appliances" that do just that too).springparrot wrote:how about take the computer away from them??

that is why I am trying to learn them.....Coconuts wrote:Could you have your other siblings email them pictures? That would give them an incentive to learn.
Kids/grand kids/Great grand kids.......
I think the problem is that the good emails are diluted
by the "forward" emails.. jokes.. photo strings... you know...
I just sent out an email asking for all to stop those...

Good luck Santa!
My folks (87 and 85) have mastered the e-mail and the family web site.
Mom is a big solitaire player on the computer.
However, daddy always prints out our notes to them first thing in the morning and then erases them. he hands the print out to mom when she gets up and she promptly gets on the phone to answer your e-mail
I'm proud of them, they have adapted to sooo many changes in their lives. I remember how the ATM was a big step for them. Now they use it all the time...
