How I Know There Is No God

Post by FunkHouse9 »

I have seen Hootie & The Blowfish play R.E.M.'s Losing My Religion.
I have seen Guns N' Roses play Christina Aguilera's Beautiful.
I have seen Kenny Chesney play Aerosmith's Sweet Emotion.
I have seen Barenakes Ladies play Prince's Purple Rain.
And last night I saw Celine Dion play Queen's We Will Rock You.

If there really was a God, he would NEVER, EVER have allowed these to happen.

Anybody else have any tragically unacceptable covers they've seen bands play live before?

Thanks for reminding me about something I tried to forget... It was one of those VH-1 Divas things a few years ago... Celine Dion "singing" AC/DC "You Shook Me All Night Long"

I've seen Jimmy Buffett play Dave Matthews' Trippin' Billies.
I've seen Jimmy Buffett play Bruce Springsteen's Glory Days.
I've seen Jimmy Buffett play Jack Johnson's The Horizon Has Been Defeated.
I've seen Jimmy Buffett play Bob Dylan's Rainy Day Women #12 And 35

We Will Rock You wasn't the only Queen song Celine played, but it sure was the worst. The way her dancers were following her around the stage, I swore they were about to start snapping their fingers like some kind of Guys and Dolls moment.

OK, so I don't mean to insult your musical tastes....and maybe Hootie was the opening act....but you must admit that you set yourself up for some of these...no?

Yes, I'd go see G n' R....covers? I wouldn't know and Christina songs anyway...so how would I know?

and yes, I would probably go see Celine, if someone else paid...she's got a good set of lungs and would most likely be impressive through out the performance....and yes I would gag when I noted, "Hay, this is a QUEEN song....WTF!!"

but as far as the others....they're on you man!

I have also seen Hootie play So Lonely by the Police and Champagne Supernova by Oasis. [smilie=puking.gif] I'm still trying to think of some others.

That's exactly what happened. My Mom wanted to go and she got tickets for her, my dad, my wife and I. It was an excellent show for what it was. Besides, I'm not one to turn down a free concert.

Celine bugs me.....sorry to all of her fans out there, I don't know why but I can't stand her. And Neil Diamond, too. Couldn't stand him even when I was a kid. Most performers out there I can deal with whether I enjoy their music or not, but not these two. My idea of he!! would be these two doing a duet cover of a Jimmy song.....AARGHHHHHH!

I said Guys and Dolls and I meant West Side Story. I'm so out of touch with musicals from before I was born.
