What is ironic about Martha is that if she had held on to the stock for a year longer she would have made more money than she lost by bailing out when she did. The other part is that you look at all the guys who swindled the stock and bond markets for BILLIONS of dollars and most of them received shorter and lighter sentences, frequently with any jail time. One might assume that it was because they could afford to hire more attorneys or one might guess it was based on the fact that Martha was a woman who was outspoke and successful.
