Post by z-man »

Bankie will be at the Skipperdome (Skippers Smokehouse in Tampa) on Wednesday, Sept 24.

Who else is in?

SKIPPER'S 28th ANNIVERSARY WEEK!
WEDNESDAY SEPT 24
BANKIE BANX AND THE ROOTS & HERBS
An established veteran of the international Reggae scene, Bankie Banx began his recording career in the late ‘70s. A native of Anguilla, British West Indies, Banx has led a colorful life, filled with both highs and lows, persevering through it all and emerging as a triumphant messenger of positivity. Not only a musician, Banx is also a successful businessman, owner of The Dune Preserve resort and promoter of Moonsplash, the region’s premier roots music festival. Banx is known and respected by Reggae fans the world over as well as beloved by the Parrothead Nation – Jimmy Buffet himself has performed with Banx on a number of occasions, both at The Dunes and elsewhere. www.bankiebanx.net w/IMPULSE Our regular Wednesday night band, purveyors of Reggae and Afro-beat, will play an opening set as well as a set following Banx.

Z man, Mary and I will see you there. John Frinzi is at Raspcallions the next night if you can make it. Did you buy tickets in advance or at the door? I understand we get a discount with our PH credentials.

Saw him last night here in Bloomington and had a terrific time. I felt bad for him because it just wasn't publicized well and through the right channels so the turn out was low.

Regardless, he and his band sounded really, really good and put forth a great effort on stage.

If you're looking for a night of great, great upbeat music that just swallows you away from the rest of life, you need to go see Bankie.

He just will make you smile!

Good times.

Bankie did about a half hour of "sound check" which was very cool, then a local band Impulse played for about an hour and they were awesome, and may be booked for a possible Sept. 09 FL Phlocking at the Malyn... 8)

Great show...

Thinking now about going to Moonsplash the end of March
