Was Charlie Gibson "fair" with Gov. Sarah Palin?

Did you see the interview? Mr. Good Morning America has interviewed many people. Do you feel there was another Charlie Gibson behing the microphone or like Fox news, was he fair and balnaced?

I don't think he was fair at all. In fact, in two instances, he purposely took her statements out of context in order to paint her as a religious fanatic.

I voted no. I thought I was seeing another Charlie Gibson. I think you can ask hard questions without "hitting" hard. He seemed to convey utter disdain for Gov. Palin. I've been around men like that when all they seem to see is my blond hair, and they expect me to be an idiot. She held her own despite his attempts to unnerve her.

And I say this as someone who doubts her experience as well. I just think you can be a gentleman and treat someone with respect while letting their answers show whether they know anything or not.

He was saying that the next eventual president will be either McCain or Obama, not a third party candidate.

She basically had her pick of where to go, and who to do the interview, why'd she pick him? It's not like every network wasn't chomping at the bit to get the first exclusive.

I agree.

Unfortunately, that's just how the left is going to treat anyone on the right and the right, seeing the way that they're being treated, thinks it's OK to respond the same way.

So now what we have is a bunch of people yelling at each other, calling each other names and bound and determined to be right at all costs, and all of the good people are either being pushed to the wayside or deciding that they don't want any part of it.

LighteningBolt is a good example. He wanted to be right and feel important so badly that even after I explained to him three times that I'm not voting for McCain, he still insisted that I defend John McCain.

Rather than listening to what I had to say and responding thoughtfully and respectfully, the very first thing he did was to accuse me of plagiarism and "attacking", even though he couldn't show who I attacked.

The way he chose to turn on me and make it personal, when his side would have been much better served by addressing the points I made, just illustrate the problem with what's passing for political discourse these days.

Maybe she didn't realize he would be that way? He had a whole different approach than the folksy way he usually hosts the ABC News.

This again, however, appears to be a double-standard, as Palin grew up in the Assemblies of God, one of the largest Christian denominations in America with 16 million members, and is now a member of the Wasilla Bible Church. Even now, Obama has yet to receive any comparable grilling on his 20-year attendance in the congregation of the notoriously racist Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

The reason they don't want to talk about the issues is that they know that Obama hasn't done anything. He hasn't authored any legislation. He hasn't served on any committees.

...He hasn't done a damned thing as a senator and his own followers can't even tell you what he's done that would make you want to vote for him.

They just say "change, change". And, in a sense, they're right because when this guy gets through with you, the only thing you'll have left in your pocket is change.

By the way, Sen. Obama is the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee to Europe. (Those would include countries that REALLY do border Russia).

You could have proven me wrong by saying "I disagree. Obama has done ______" and then listed his accomplishments that would look good on a presidential resume.

Do you really not understand that the fact that you, despite having been asked several times, cannot come up with one accomplishment, does more to lend credibility to my claim that Obama's supporters don't have anything to hang their hat on, than attacking me does to disprove it?

Fair enough. Could you please list the many things this commitee has accomplished under his leadership?

For instance, what oversight hearings has Obama held? How many times has the commitee met with Obama as chair?
