Was Charlie Gibson "fair" with Gov. Sarah Palin?

Now there's a good reason to vote for her! NOTWino you know wrote:Sorry, but there IS a difference between a B*TCH and a BABE.Skibo wrote:I look forward to the first time she is called a B****. should be even more entertaining than the pig thing.
Sarah is the latter
Now, let's be honest, none of these candidates have any experience in the job that they are applying for. It's one of those terrible things about being President, the only way to get experience is to do the job.
We have 4 politicians on two tickets. They will say whatever they (or their handlers) think will get them elected. You have McCain backtracking from his positions from the elections of 2000 and is rather interesting "normal" American family and his somewhat questionable behavior when he met Cindy (I'm an only child, other then my step siblings) and then left his first wife. Or there is his position on tax cuts to the rich, which he was against and then he was for.
And then you have Obama and his miscues and misstatements ranging from the public financing of campaigns to his statements on the embargo on Cuba, first he is against, then he is for it. And l won't get into his church membership and his wife's statement.
Joe Biden has a terrific record for creativity, as defined by Jimmy Buffett, (creativity is just undetected plagiarism) except for the little detail that Joe was detected plagiarizing. Opps! Not to mention all of his flip flops over the years.
And that brings us to Sarah Palin, who is very appealing to some groups and yet scares the daylights out of many others. Here is a woman, with very little experience at running a government (yes, it is more than Obama's but it isn't very much) who was for the bridge to nowhere and then against it. Or on earmarks in general. And then there are her changing positions on global climate change and if it is caused by man or not. And it is very clear that she is extremely weak on foreign policy issues.
So, there you have it. None of these are what you would call a good choice based on the expectation that they always have been and always will be perfect.
Me, I'm figuring on voting for a 3rd party candidate since I know which way my state will vote.
Good luck to all of us because we're going to need it.

Just so you know, I'm still waiting on some proof of this. I searched myself and couldn't find where Biden "already stated that he had no idea what the Bush Doctrine was." I find that hard to believe, and I'd like you to back that up.Wino you know wrote:Joe Biden already stated (to Anderson Cooper sometime back) that HE had no idea what the Bush Doctrine was.
I thought THAT was odd, since, he's not only a candidate for Vice President, but a SITTING U.S. SENATOR.
albeit, from Delaware

C'mon. Everyone knows that if a Democrat changes positions, he's a flip-flopper. If a Republican does it, he's seen the light.Martonian wrote:And then there is John McCain who wouldn't now even vote for legislation that has his name on it!LIPH wrote:Which in some cases is not what he stood for 6 months ago.Lightning Bolt wrote:Still, he is vetted and already respected on the world stage.

I don't have time to go back and read all of this, so if it is a repeat, I am sorr. To me, Palin is
"The Girl In The Plastic Bubble"
In over 45 years of watching elections, I have never seen a major candidate so insulated and isolated. If people think Charles "Les Nessman" Gibson was tough on her, what is she going to do when a reporter not hand picked by the RNC interviews her?????????
Sorry Garry, I love you man, but there is a reason we never talk politics when we get together

My wife was glued to the TV for this. I heard it from a distance. I didn't care for her voice intonations. She had some Hillary mannerisms and you know what Hillary gets called sometimes. Maybe it is a chick thing. I look forward to the first time she is called a B*Skibo wrote:rednekkPH wrote:From someone who pretty much dislikes both tickets this year...
I thought Gibson was fair in his questioning - she's potentially going to be the President, she should be able to field any questions put to her. I did feel that he was more than abit condecending and rude, though.
That said, Palin looked like a deer caught in the headlights for the entirety of the interview, and her answers (or more accurately her lack thereof) were nothing short of painful to listen to. She seems to be a good speaker when her speech is laid out for her, but her ability to field unscripted questions leaves alot to be desired.

In listening to several radio stations after she was announced and my favorite description of her: "The landscape of Alaska is littered with bodies of those that have tried to cross her".

Why wouldn't you ask questions of the person who stands NEXT IN LINE to the presidency?"ABC and Gibson focused on Palin as if she were running right now for the presidency rather than the vice presidency. He and other media pundits, by contrast, have never asked the Democratic vice presidential nominee, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, if he has ever had to make a decision on anything.
By contrast, Joe Biden is the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in the U.S. Senate.
His qualifications are practically unassailable, and that's why there have not been questions.

Only complete idiots would think Obama hasn't been put through the ringer on this..."...Even now, Obama has yet to receive any comparable grilling on his 20-year attendance in the congregation of the notoriously racist Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
When you don't know what the Bush Doctrine is... damn straight she was surprised!"...Gibson’s aggressive approach appeared to take Palin by surprise."
I cannot wait for the debates, where she will truly be exposed as the lightweight she is...

I have a feeling the answer is gonna have the words "freezes over" in it.
