Jimmy Buffett Man Cave

Post by BrianM »

Does anyone have any suggestions for a Jimmy Buffett themed Man Cave? I have the 50" Flat Screen and a large garage area and I think I want to decorate it Jimmy Buffett style. I have taken 30 of his CDs that I own and have glued them to a wall to display them and that's where I am so far. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Why don'tcha build it to resemble one of Jimmy's stage setups? Like, maybe, the "A Salty Piece of Land" tour or something...

Can someone please tell me how to insert a picture here? It must not be that hard, but I'm not sure how to do it.[/img]

here's a link on how to show one in your signature line. The BBCode and HTML code tags are the same.

The picture needs to be hosted on a publically accesable site such as a personal web page, photobucket, shutterfly (after you "share" with others you have to use the share link) etc...

Go to Home Depot and get some of the bamboo/reed fencing and mount that to the walls first, then add palm fronds to the cieling for the tiki-hut look (mount fire extinguisher first) , thennnnn add the cd's. Carve a tiki (not that hard). As others have posted....... old surfboard, pirate flag, Tequilla or rum labels framed (soak the bottle in the sink to remove), Landshark lager or Corona signs (talk to local bars or distributors)........ you can get bamboo poles for decoration (varying sizes and widths), and bare wood frames for the labels from Michaels craft stores. Go to a local thrift store and get a couple of used aloha shirts and mount those to the walls, make some "rum crate" end tables out of rough pine and paint stencils, The possibilities are endless.

As well as what others have said you can staple grass skirts to the walls, "Find" some Margaritaville flags in Vegas and hang them as curtains in the window along w/the M'ville beach ball from the ceiling.

Make a pallett table and direction sign

hang a nautical chart on the wall

Also do a search here on BN for tiki pictures.........others have posted pics of their tiki bars in various threads

Have fun, and post pics when you can :)

When I read "Man Cave" my mind went somewhere other than the garage....(the gutter I guess), but that would be quite difficult to build......

I would think no man cave themed in Parrothead style would be complete without a tiki bar and a palm tree, perhaps you could throw a surfboard on the wall. don't forget a blender as you will have to drink some conconctions while sitting watching a dvd of one of his shows on your 50" Enjoy, wish I had the opportunity to create a man cave like that. When you done post some pics!! I can't create a man cave but I do cut loose in the back yard so I have that going for me.
