Instead of pulling someone's pants up, how about pulling them down? Not out in the street, but at a concert or sporting event, preferably where you've already gone through a metal detector. Or could you be charged with something for doing that?
Or school?
When I first read the thread title I thought it said 'soggy' and I thought 'EWWWWW!'
I love it when the pants are so low and they hold onto the snap/button to keep them up and they look like they're doing a Michael Jackson impersonation.

this effects less than 1% of people in this country. Actually . . . it effects less than 1% of 1% of people in this country. I mean seriously, this is not a pressing issue. Most people if not every person I see for months at a time dress within the confines of the standards of society . . . I don't care what other people wear . . . I barely care what I wear. I don't care what any of you are wearing right now . . . they are clothes. Lets not make more out of this than need be. Those 1% or 1% need to buy a new wardrobe. I am sure they will move on.

High school/ Junior High kids who do this would equal about 1% of 1% of people in this country if not less (like I said) . . . and I am in Boston right now thank you very much . . .

That's one option. I, however, would rather beat them about the face and head with a softball bat for about 20 minutes. This goes double for the idiots whose parents never taught them which direction the brim on a baseball hat should face.
I see an adult wearing a backwards baseball cap and my first thought is - doofus. Unless it's during a baseball game and he's the catcher.
SharkOnLand wrote:Backwards baseball caps at least have a function. I regularly wear mine backwards while doing yard work or whatever to keep the sun off the back of my neck.
But when your entire ass sticks out the top of your pants, well, that's just stupid.
backwards is ok...i do it with a hat or visor....but sideways i have a issue with!!...and the whole pants issue is another thing..i have a brother in his 30's that does it...drives my parents nuts...they won't go out in public with him....but he is slowly changing...my niece who at one time thought it was cool doesn't anymore and gets all over him!!
did you ever watch the Wire?? one of the cops called a kid over and asked him
where He bought his hat.. (it was on sideways)
the cop said He only shopped at stores that sold caps that face forward..

for the entire nation I bet my estimate is close . . . this is such a stupid issue that does not matter to over 99% of people - - - IMO. Of all the things to focus on, clothes are at the bottom of my list of important issues. They do not define who we are and what we are.

Well I find the look ridiculous. Clothes that are worn so low and droopy that you have to use one hand to hold them up. In my neighborhood that would mean that you are wearing clothes that don't fit.
And FYI - I work in a building that has 2 floors of a Call Center with several hundred people.. Those that work in it are an average age of 20-25.. and I see this horrible fashion statement in more than half of them.

love ya bro , but i have to disagree with you on that. I think clothes says a lot about a person. A buffett show aside!!
Voters in Riviera Beach approved the law in March. A first offense for sagging pants carries a $150 fine or community service, and habitual offenders face the possibility of jail time.
I think the look is odd, but . . .
I also think that everyone who voted for this law should be slapped around a bit and have their voting rights suspended, followed by a $150 fine or community service or the possibility of jail time.

I was wondering the same thing. For the life of me I don't understand why people post in threads that are no interest to them. I often wonder if it's just to start trouble.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.
There's no accounting for taste...or lack of it. But no, you can't outlaw it in the general public. Although schools are certainly able to enact dress codes.

I obviously have much interest in this thread. What I don't have interest in is the clothes other people choose to wear. My interest lies in the fact that people actually feel the need for Constitutional Intervention over clothes when there are so many other issues that are actually important. They are just clothes. My exact quote above is "clothes are at the bottom of my list of important issues" and that I don't think "clothes define who are what we are" . . . it is amazing to me that people actually find this a "Constitutional" Related issue - that is where my interest lies and I thought that is what this thread is about.
