You do realize that the quote in your signature, while used, and only slightly paraphrased, by Roy 'Tin Cup' Mcavoy, was actually made by Jimmy DeMaret. Sorry if this seems a bit anal to point out...it's an annoying habit I can't get rid of
and i care....why????
if you don't want to come off as educated and intelligent, then you shouldn't
?? I'm not sure why you're hassling Tommy for quoting Tin Cup in his sig line??

I don't think he's trying to 'come off' as anything... just giving props to a movie he liked, and a sport he enjoys playing.

I don't think I'd want to meet him backstage either....too much going on. I think on a beach somewhere or something like that...

My dad met him once on a golf course. Said he was really pretty cool

I'd like to apologize for the rude comments that were posted in this thread under my username. My 17 year old daughter, upset with me for grounding her from driving, seems to have logged on here, as well as a Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Pirates web board I post on, and decided to act like an a$$ to 'get back at me' I guess. Needless to say, the extent of her punishment has grown to levels I haven't seen since my high school glory days. Anyway, looking around it doesn't seem as though she's posted anything else on here...if she has, I apologize for those as well.

For the Saturday Nissan concert, a friend told me that she had a customer in her business that was a radio executive that had backstage passes. She has gone backstage with him several times to meet Bruce Springsteen and a few others. When she realized it would mean way more to me than it would to her, she offered me the pass. She said her customer told her there were two levels of passes to see Jimmy and he had the second level and not just the hospitality tent. I was prepared to miss the entire concert if that's what it took.

Well turns out her customer wound up not being there and I didn't get to meet Jimmy. But my friend, who was a Buffett virgin, drank the Kool-
Aid and had a great time. She felt terrible and says "it's gonna happen, he owes her".....

nothing ventured.....nothing gained.......maybe some day....... 8)
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

I've given up hope for back stage passes.

I'm hoping to run across Jimmy broke down on the Intercoastal Waterway or Mobile Bay out of gas, engine problems, etc. My sparkling conversation and wit would gain me access to the inner circle of friends as I save the day.

At least that's how I see it in my mind.

Been bacstage a ton of times with Sammy Hagar & Mike Anthony... They treat you like you are the show, they are great guys... Have a ton of backstage photos on my myspace page from the last KC Show!

Back in the old days when I was a DJ and ran sound for the local concert people on the side been backstage with Head East, REO Speedwagon, Foghat, 38 Special, Jefferson Starship, Night Ranger, Damn Yankees , Neil McCoy, Tracy Bird and a few more...

The best ones were Sammy, Mike, Tommy Shaw, Neil McCoy and almost everyone in REO & Head East was great....
