I miss Tim Russert and, even though he was a LIBERAL newscaster, I miss Peter Jennings a lot too.
Two stand-up guys who were in a class by themselves.
Tim seemed to have that knack of letting a person actually ENJOY watching the news, and Peter, bless his soul, at the end of every one of his newscasts always left you feeling happy, hopeful, and optimistic.

Why did Palin decline to be the post debate response on NBC for her own ticket? That seems odd to me.

DId you see her interview with Katie Couric? I just did.... She won't be doing ANY interviews for awhile. If there is anyone who can watch that video and STILL vote for John McCain they are NUTS! I CRINGED at her vague, dumb, ill-informed answers. OMG - It was like a train wreck... She couldn't cite one example of John McCain supportingreform - she actually said (in her horribly annoyimg voice) "I go find ya some and bring em back to ya"

Christine - did you see her interview with Katie? Is it just me - I am trying not to be biased - but it really was horrible - and I was actually frightened of the thought she could be our VP who has to have conversations with foreign leaders. I have enough issues with John McCain - but even more with her.

I thought the debate tonight was OK - they both had strong points. Obama seems to have taken in the polls they are doing but McCain is definitely a better debater than he is a speaker - it just p*** me off that he lies so much and he talks down to people a lot

I think this election has been decided WAY before either V.P. candidates were chosen.
Obama will win the election thanks to the votes of the misguided ones, no matter if he chose Joe Biden or Jesus Christ himself as his running mate, while the REGULAR Americans are voting for McCain regardless of HIS running mate.

She's even got conservative columnists throwing her under the bus now. Even folks at the National Review.

It was utterly terrible. I believe it's one of the reasons that McCain "suspended" his campaign, to try and get the focus off of that interview.

There was also this part about Alaska and Russia:

i can honestly say for the first time since i turned 18 and have been able to vote...i don't want to,,,, i will because it is my duty as an American...but i really think it will be a write in canidate!
