Damn, I wonder what the media a-holes could dig up on ME if I told them what I thought of Obama and his flunkies.

Gary - I am not a Republican and I'm by far no McCain fan and I find your comments HIGHLY offensive. Besides, won't it be poetic justice if McCain pulls off a miracle and wins?
Then the 'Pubbies can rub it in real good.

Don't be insulted. That wasn't my intent.
Just trying to inject a little humor here before I spend the next four years hiding in a tree.

I don't find being called a socialist funny. In fact I don't find a lot of the insults you've been throwing to be funny. Yeah you have the right to voice your opinion however you have been doing so with little regards towards the feelings of many of us that have considered you a friend. You're mouthing off all kinds insulting things and until now I've overlooked it because of our friendship however I'm really getting sick and tired of my beliefs, my friends and family's beliefs being insulted by you on a freaking daily basis. I find myself wondering how in the hell you can consider me your friend since I'm one of these God awful people you hate so adamantly.Wino you know wrote:Sorry.ph4ever wrote:Gary - I am not a Republican and I'm by far no McCain fan and I find your comments HIGHLY offensive. It was journalists who exposed the excesses of the House Unamerican Activities Committee under Sen. McCarthy in the 50s, when if your third cousin had ever met a Communist, you were banned from working in places like Hollywood.
It was journalists who exposed the shady dealings of the Republican National Committee and the Nixon administration, both with the Pentagon Papers and with the burglary at the Watergate Hotel.
And it's journalists who might keep *your* ass from being "disappeared" someday if Someone Up There in Washington decides they don't like you and classify you as a "terrorist sympathizer," whether you are or not. Once you've vanished, it doesn't matter whether the allegations are true or not; they'll just waterboard you until you confess.
If what is being discovered about Joe (or whatever his name really is) is the *truth*, then good or bad, let it come out. It's not a "smear" if it really happened that way. What have they got to hide, and why?

God bless the "fair and UN-balanced" media.
The media might not always be fair and balanced (Fox v. MSNBC), but in this case, they have done us a service.
Thanks to journalists and bloggers, we know now Joe:
1. does not have a plumber's license
2. had not spoken to his employer about buying his business except in his job interview - 4 years ago
3. owes back taxes
4. owes a hospital bill for which they put a lien on his house
and
MIGHT be related to Keating's son-in-law.
Is this really the kind of guy McCain wants to hang his hat on?
All McCain's people would have had to do before they hitched their wagon to his star was to have (1) checked the plumbers' union (2) talked to Joe's boss about the proposed purchase plan and (3) checked the courthouse for liens.
As for the family tree, that might have taken a little digging, but it should be easy enough to run down.
It's not rocket science. It would have taken them about 3 hours. Tops.

One of the more despicable things that some trolls on the Internet do is hurl blanket insults, and then hide behind "What's the matter? Can't you take a joke?" It's childish cowardice, plain and simple.
And to be frank, I used to think better of you than that, and I would like to do so again sometime. But if the passive-aggressive BS doesn't stop, you're probably going to lose friends *and* have problems with the moderators. You can express your opinions and political slant without insults and slander - I've seen people do it on this very thread.
This is our country, and we've *all* got dogs in this fight, one way or the other. But if we can't dialog and disagree respectfully, we're only one short step from guns and suicide bombers and other stuff that can ruin your entire day.
We have more in common with each other than differences. Let's try to remember that, as this nasty, ugly political season winds down.

But the emergence of Joe has allowed the state of Ohio to locate the man it says owes nearly $1,200 in back taxes. His motives for confronting Sen. Barack Obama at a campaign stop in his neighborhood earlier this week are the subject of intense Internet speculation. The city of Toledo is preparing a letter to his employer seeking to determine whether he is violating city codes, and the plumbers union is on his tail.
...
Wurzelbacher also acknowledged to reporters that he did not have a plumber's license but said he did not need one to do residential work with the two-man Newell Heating and Plumbing Co., which does have a license.
David Golis, a manager in Toledo's office of building inspections, said that is incorrect. "We were just discussing that we will send a letter to the owner of Newell reminding him" of the city's requirement that all who do plumbing work be licensed or in apprentice or journeyman programs, Golis said.
I'm going out on a limb here . . . I think Joe will be voting Republican.. . . Wurzelbacher has made [sic] that he is conservative and no fan of Obama -- he told Couric that Obama's answer to his question was a "tap dance" that was "almost as good as Sammy Davis Jr." -- but declined to say who he will be voting for Nov. 4.
But I've got another question that I would like answered:
Are Joe Sixpack, Joe Plumber and Joe Camel related to each other? I mean biologically? Of course, their first names are the same, but also their last names can be extended to refer to body parts: sixpack abs, plumber butt and camel . . .
These are the kinds of questions that keep me up late at night.
That just makes no sense at all coming from you given some of your past posts. Although I will grant that you never said "What's the matter? Can't you take a joke?"TropicalTroubador wrote:One of the more despicable things that some trolls on the Internet do is hurl blanket insults, and then hide behind "What's the matter? They (we) are every bit as patriotic as you are. Remember - that's what this country stands for - the right to disagree - in fact -the right to dissent.
If you can't have a civil discussion without reverting to hate filled name calling - then the Moderators should consider banning your rants.
That's all I have to say.

Have you got a beef about something specific, or are you just hoping to obfuscate things by making vague, unanswerable accusations?
If you've got something specific you'd like to discuss nonjudgmentally, in the hopes of gaining perspective and understanding and maybe developing a better connection, write me privately. Like I said, I'm good with discussing differences respectfully.
Otherwise, nice try but No Ceegar. It's 5:00 Friday; time to go somewhere.

Three videos.
I feel everyone should watch and listen to these. Especially before anyone blames anyone on the current status in America that is effecting the global market or blaming one political party over the other.
They may not change anyone's mind, but at least watch and listen to them.
Be sure to listen to the end of this one. The video runs about 8 minutes.
