I really can't fault him for requesting the protection - there's still a bunch of racist extreme radicals out there with the attitude of "I would love to put a bullet in that n....." I thought it was primarily and attitude of the south, but I've found I was wrong and stereotyped my fellow southerners unjustly. I've been really shocked at how some up here in the liberal PNW have been expressing their displeasure in his race.

The surprising part to me is its happening now. A mere 40 some odd years after the civil rights movement in our country. In the grand scheme of history I think this is a short time. Not in a bad way but something to be proud of.

Today the US invaded Syria as part of its War in Iraq to carry out a commando mission. There were militants smuggling weapons and such in to the Iraqi insurgents located 5 miles over the Syrian border.

I saw on the news last week the Republican party there has arranged the early voting hours in a way least conducive to the public there. Something like during work hours and like 3 hours on a Saturday or something goofy.
I told someone recently that there's another good chance we may not know who our president is the evening of Nov 4th. Everyone has Lawyers somewhere looking to sue someone. Obama has a special section in the volunteer section for attorneys who wish to volunteer against voter fraud.
11/4 will likely make for some good TV. I may have to call in with Fun Poisoning on that Wednesday.

Back in March/April when everyone except Homer Simpson was a Republican candidate, the one who most closely represented my views was Duncan Hunter (congressman from California).
He dropped out, as did the others, until it was down to just John McCain.
Don't get me wrong-I LOVE the guy & admire his going WAY above & beyond his dedication to his service for his country-he just wasn't my first choice.
But between him and Obama, I really HAVE no choice.
