I just listened to Obama's "closing speech." It was so uplifting and positive. I hope we can come together after this election and work on the problems facing us.

I would think Gov. Palin would have some experience spotting ice-floes and icebergs.

I watched Obama's closing speech at lunch today and it was a very inspiring, uplifting speech. I haven't felt good after hearing a politician speak in a very long time. Hey Gary, didn't you tell us that you stumped for Obama in Iowa in the caucuses? Was that more to be against Hillary, or was there something you saw that you liked back then?

Exactly. Regardless of who wins next Tuesday (is it really finally here?!?), I hope the American people support and unite behind him. I hope if McCain wins the likely Democratic Congress works with him to pass meaningful bipartisan legislation. I hope if Obama wins, Republicans don't immediate toss his policy proposals as trash simply because of the D next to his name. I think the country is sick of the incredible amount of partisanship that has dominated the federal government as far back as I can remember.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,

Tonight I just need my guitar

I don't care who wins but I do hope that whoever it is, that they win without the absentee and provisional votes. I don't want Obama winning with 80% of the absentee votes for him so we can listen to the Republicans whining about voter fraud for 4 years, you know like the dems did with bush. I can't imagine a scenario where McCain would win and the dems could whine, but if he did win surely there would be some good reason to whine. If Obama does win, the republicans can only blame themselves for running such a poor campaign and candidate.

In court records unsealed Monday, agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target an unnamed by predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads.

Not a good day for Republicans .... the news shows are still talking about the Palin wardrobe and her going "rogue" ... now Stevens is found guilty.

New Zealand is beautiful, and I'd come visit you there, but know this.
Income tax is generally 39% on those earning over $70,000 and sales tax is 12.5%

...so maybe it ain't so bad here after all
Besides that, you know what you'll pay for a steak down there?

News is reporting the two met on the internet and both have a history of mental illness. Am glad they caught these guys ... they're saying how seriously the secret service is taking their responsibility ....

Wonder if they're watching this thread. :D :D :D

I did not realize that he was up for re-election. I thought if he had to resign, Palin was going to appoint herself has his replacement. She'd be nothing if not entertaining in the Senate Chamber. :D

She'd go in thinking she was in charge ... and those good ole' boys would give her a lower 48 schooling in a hurry. :D
