Once upon a time there were a group of men who called themselves the Chicago Cubs.

They thought they were a baseball team.

I could normally restrain myself from those kind of posts, but TWO YEARS IN A ROW being the first playoff team eliminated, TWO YEARS IN A ROW going "three & out," NINE consecutive playoff game losses (dating back to 2003), a 9-21 playoff record (going back to 1984), and, in those losses, a team batting average of something like .192.

DAMN RIGHT, OUCH!

I may screw this up, memory being what it is:

A child was brought into a custody hearing in Chicago, after his parents died in a car crash. The judge asked if the child wanted to live with his grandparents. He said, "Please, no; they beat me all the time when I'm with them."

"Well, what about your aunt and uncle?"

"Please, no; they beat me even worse than grandma and grampa."

Well, the judge kept asking about all of the child's relatives, and each of them was turned down for having beaten the child.

Finally, the judge awarded custody to the Chicago Cubs, who had been proved incapable of beating anyone.
