lately I've noticed a bunch of these showing up on BN. Usually it's the same "Congratulations. You've won a..." whatever. Anyway to make them shut up without turning down my speakers, or better yet just make them go away all together?

I don't get 'em. Is your pop-up blocker on?

I'm getting them, and I'm getting random ads, almost full screen sized, popping up all the time, but I think it's only happening here at work, where a few different people use the computer. Wonder what sites my managers are going to.....

Definitely sounds like that computer has some adware on it. Someone needs to clean the system up. A good and easy way to start is to delete cookies and temporary internet files. Sometimes that's all it takes.

A "format c:" works well too. :) Of course, you loose a bit more information than just cookies... [smilie=pimp.gif]

Try Firefox with adblock plus. I never get any ads anymore, it's great.

But yeah, sounds like you've got issues with adware or spyware.

Tell your managers not to open the Viagra spam emails

Yeah, maybe that's it, too... I almost never use Internet Explorer. Love Firefox, and am growing fond of Google Chrome.

If they're talking ads.....have you tried just asking them nicely to stop?

Must be ads in a feminine voice. Ducking for cover! :D :D
