Hello Everyone,

My friend who orginally shared the news about the possible closing of the Chart Room Bar sent me and email about her latest visit with the Capt. and his new book, failing health and up and coming benefit.

"I came from visiting with Captain Tony last night. He still has an amazingly strong spirit, but as one would expect for a 92 year-old man, his health is failing. He is very excited about a new book on his life that has just been released. It's called Life Lessons of a Legend, by Brad Manard, and is available at amazon.com. He gave me a copy of the book last night. I haven't read it yet, but it's got some great photos and I hear it's excellent. Captain Tony plans to have a book signing at Captain Tony's on October 28, during Parrothead week here.

Also on October 30 there is supposed to be a "Share the Love for Captain Tony" fund-raising event at Rick's bar on Duval Street. Captain Tony sold his bar years ago and gets none of the profits from it. As you can imagine, he has had extensive medical bills over the past year, and he and his family needs the support.

Would you please help spread the word on buffettnews.com and among any other of your Parrothead friends?

Many thanks for your help!

Best Regards,
Jean"

You guys have provided so much help before I hope it keeps coming.

Please keep us updated, I can't find anything on what time etc on the 30th. Since a fair number of us will be at MOTM it would be great if we could support him as a group.
I'm so sorry I won't be there yet for the book signing!

Hello Everyone,

I was asked how to contribute to Capt. Tony if they are not able to attend the benefit.

He is such a sweet (okay, and dirty but sweet nonetheless!) old guy. I made a point to catch him last year and am so glad I did since this MOTM I'll be missing.

At 92, he is tired, I'm sure...but he's Capt' Tony! I can not imagine KW without him. Many e-hugs and PHIN power to him!! WE LOVE YOU CAPT' TONY!!

(he kissed me with his tongue once!...kinda gross...but I can talk about it now!)
