Margaritavison?

Post by SoILPrtHed »

Just came back from KW this past weekend and, of course, made my yearly pilgrimage to Margaritaville. While eating and taking in my fair portion of Landsharks I noticed they were playing concert footage up on a screen- something I haven't noticed before. I noticed the same thing in Orlando and Panama City. I would like to see what interest there would be in Jimmy branching once again and creating a Margaritavision on Satellite (like MTV or VH1- only with Buffett, Reefer and other TropRock videos). I have been thinking about this for a while and think I have even read a few lines about the like on here before. Maybe, if the phlock gets behind it, we could possibly make it happen. Talked to a lady at the store and she thought it would be a great idea and there would be a lot of material to use. Just a thought and wish- how about all of you?

There are a few videos on the Coconut Television on Margaritaville.com

I know that's not exactly what you were talking about, but it's pretty cool.
There are a few of those tapes they play at the various Margaritaville Restaurant's I'd like to own, but they're never for sale. :-?
Some people never find it, some only pretend
But me, I just want to live happily ever after every now and then.

Just think it would be great to see videos (whether from concert or actual music vids) of our boy Bubba and the crew whenever we felt the need. Sure there would be others, but much like RM, there would be a lot of what we like to turn it on for.

I believe so. I think I remember him doing Margaritavision special reports during the Beach House tour.

I remember watching the entire Buckeye Lake (?) show from the Fruitcakes tour that was, just like a few other things as of late (Coastal Confessions...), supposed to be released as a full length concert video, at the Marg in New Orleans.

That was a while back though.

Mrs. C-Dawg had an idea after the GW show, where she made the big screen. She asked why couldn't Jimmy sell each concert in a DVD of the footage that makes the big screen. They have the footage and the soundtrack, seems to me it wouldn't take much additional work to burn it to a DVD and sell it off the Margaritaville website. I'm sure there would be a big demand.

Here's the deal.

I don't think there is enough demand to make a 24/7 channel. Maybe a show...but not a whole channel.

There is no way there's enough demand. The radio show is PLENTY enough. Something like that, all of Margaritavision, would be a good DVD.

Oh wait a minute - did I just suggest that JB release a DVD of something? Nevermind.

Isn't there enough parking lot footage from all the other DVDs? It's not exactly "interesting".

Right. But isn't there already enough? As opposed to say, I dunno, the music? There are quite a few parking lot videos on youtube. Then again. there are a lot of live albums with the same songs and the DVDs with the same songs.

Who's to say what's enough? You Tube videos are horrible in quality. Everyone has a different opinion of what they want and like, and no one is WRONG.

A Jimmy Buffett channel? Wouldn't work.

How many times a day could you watch a video of "Margaritaville" or the "Fruitcakes" video?

Those things are cool, but it'd take a few hours of watching and you would have seen everything there was to see.

I love Jimmy Buffett music, but that would be very boring.

Not enough content and just watching Jimmy Buffett videos? Wouldn't get enough viewers.

I don't think a Beatles channel would work. A Beatles show? Sure.
