That is THE island... I just have to get back to......
sssshhhh ... let's keep it quiet okay. Couldn't agree with you more, but we really don't want everyone to know about it, now do we?
btw, Boo at The Beach Bar makes fantastic Bushwackers. It's really tough sitting at the bar, enjoying a beverage, watching the waves roll in, talking with the gang at Low Key, etc, etc.
We just loved St John, from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay and out to Sloop Jones' place and everything in between.
"I want to go back to the island ..."
'Cause I want to be there, I want to go back down and lie beside the sea there ...

Catsway, if you were like us you got an earthquake AND a hurricane in one week. This trip turned into quite an adventure and we actually just got home late last night---three days later than planned.

we arrived a few days late also due to the air space being closed. i told my boss i was too frazzled to go back the next day, so we went to vt to chill.

Yes McGee, we got the 6.2 earthquake the morning after we arrived at St Thomas. It was quite the conversation at the Blue Moon Bar at Secret Harbor. We made a trip over to St Croix on Monday on Seaborne Air (the float planes) as planned but got stuck in St Croix when they put everything on a weather hold because of some the outer bands of Omar. We got back to St Thomas at 9PM via Cape Air's final flight of the day. BTW, Rum Runners on St Croix is an excellent bar to hang out.
Then Omar began whirling our way. They closed all the harbors and ferries on Tuesday PM so we were not able to make our planned trip to Tortola and the Full Moon Party. I even wonder if the Bomba Shack is still there since it was closer to the eye than we were. We had a couple of nice relaxing days at Secret Harbour once Omar moved on. Besides The Beach Bar on St Johns, we have to recommend Island Time Pub, Molly Malone's, Latitude 18 and of course Duffy's Love Shack in Red Hook. Everyone that we met on island was wonderful and nice. They cared for our safety during and after the storm. We must thank all the USVI folks that took care of us during our stay.

We swung by the bomba party very early (8ish) after a day on Jost and dinner at the Jolly Roger. You didn't miss much. It was POURING rain and there were maybe 20 people there, 10 of whom were trying to sell the other 10 drugs! We stayed less than 1/2 an hour. Too bad you didn't get to hang the license plate for your friends but it gives you an incentive to go back.
We ended up at Frenchman's reef on St. Thomas for two nights before flying home. I wish I had thought to check your post here to see where you were staying. Frenchman's reef was OK in a pinch but I'm not sure I'd hurry back there.....
the Admirilty Dive Shop on St Thomas http://www.admiraltydive.com/ is run by a couple parrotheads.
