09 Tour Dates
Anyone know when Jimmy will release his tour dates for next year? Or around the time he usually does.

this will be my only post about tour dates until March 2009 or, unless, Jimmy knocks on my front door and hands me a piece of paper and says "hey, here are the 2009 tour dates - post these f*ckers on Buffettnews!".
sadly, it would seem people are serious: so here we go - I bet that someting in July there will be a week where he hits, call me crazy, the same f'n venues he plays every year. Then he will take most of August off. Crazy, I know. Then hit Massachusetts at or around Labor Day - within a week. My gawd, I must be psychic! At some point people will complain about the North East and Great Woods getting two shows. People (me!) will make fun of those who don't. Life goes on.
too funny.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Hopefully Jimmy changes from GreatWoods back to Gillette. The sound is better, the parking is better, the lot attendants are nicer, and the police are friendlier. Now that I have been to GreatWoods to see a Jimmy Buffett concert in all it's glory I can only wonder what the hell is everyone talking about when they say GreatWoods is better because it wasn't even a close second to Gillette?

I was (briefly) front row center and he may as well have been across the street. It stunk. I can't even imagine what it was like for the folks up in the high seats.

And no matter how good a seat you GOT you'll still be disappointed.LIPH wrote:The only advantage to stadium shows is it's easier to get tickets, other than that they s***.
It was just awful, plus they packed the parking lot so tight there was barely room to walk around. And getting BACK to your car was a nightmare, bad lighting, few signs. blech.

I ALWAYS prefer a smaller venue (the smaller the better IMHO), but as far as stadium shows go, that Texas Stadium show was the best.LIPH wrote:The only advantage to stadium shows is it's easier to get tickets, other than that they s***.
(Prolly cuz I liked the two "opening acts"

I was on the field for the Texas Stadium show, probably about 35-40 rows back. I wound up in the 6th row by time Buffett came on.Dezdmona wrote:I ALWAYS prefer a smaller venue (the smaller the better IMHO), but as far as stadium shows go, that Texas Stadium show was the best.LIPH wrote:The only advantage to stadium shows is it's easier to get tickets, other than that they s***.
(Prolly cuz I liked the two "opening acts", and a lot of their fans left after they played, opening up space for JB fans to "move up" for his show.
)

Did you get the "Premier" parking or the regular parking? We were packed so tight at Mansfield that anyone who showed up after us had no where to setup their tailgate, their was room between the cars for one EZup only. There is a boat load more room for tailgating at Gillette. I went, I saw and it was not good in Mansfield.ScarletB wrote:And no matter how good a seat you GOT you'll still be disappointed.LIPH wrote:The only advantage to stadium shows is it's easier to get tickets, other than that they s***.

I could have lived with the parking but being in the best possible seat and still feeling like he was miles away soured me on big stadiums. It was terrible. I've been to GW 5 times now and only once in premier parking and we've always had more room than we had at Gillette. But my biggest gripe is the sheer size and how far away the stage was. I'd have felt royally gypped if I'd ponied up for any kind of seat further away than maybe the 6th row.jeepndd wrote:Did you get the "Premier" parking or the regular parking?
