Congratulations to our new President Elect Mr. Barack Obama

We have witnessed history and I'm glad I lived to see it.

I believe Obama will work hard to bring us together and will help us build bridges with our foreign friends.

I believe he has what it takes to lead us through the difficult times ahead. I believe he will work for a consensus rather than use a heavy hand to get his way.

The three words I keep hearing all night are

Unity
Hope
Equality

He has set the bar very high ... and I believe he will be able to rise to the occasion ... he'll bring out our better angels and we will all be better to have lived during the next 4 years.

I wish my granddaddy was here to witness this ... and Lucille, the lady who raised my brother and me ... they would have loved this moment.

This has been one of the best acceptance speeches I have ever heard in my 56 years on this planet ... and seeing the hope in the faces in the crowd gives me such peace .... Sure wish I could have been there! What a moment in history.

My husband who has been anti-getting-a-dog for sometime had to endure, "See Daddy! Barack Obama is a NICE daddy!" from Victoria.

Thats because Michelle promised her girls a puppy after the election. Ellen Degeneres gave her a dog house that was a mini white house.

It is hard not to be inspired by his earnest delivery.

I cannot wait to say goodbye to the 5-10 word slogan phrases we've had to endure
from the previous head of state.

I could have gone, but after the day I have had, I knew I just would not have the energy or the legs to go down there and stand for a couple of hours.

Oh heck, when they called it, I started sobbing. I am such a sap for this sort of thing and I find this just overwhelming.

I agree. It was a wonderful, unifying speech.

We have just witnessed a watershed moment in our history.

I did not support Senator Obama's candidacy, but President-elect Obama has my prayers and support as the incoming leader of the free world.

You KNOW in his heart he did what he thought to be the right thing.
He'll be gone soon. At least for tonight try not to dwell on any negativity.

Oh, I know how you feel. I worked elections for years ... nothing like this, but I know how tired you must be. The TV coverage has been just as stunning as the event itself.

I hope I'm not speaking too early here, but so far, there have been no reports of rioting ... I've seen celebrations in Student Union Buildings and churches, but no rioting ... maybe we've rounded that corner, too.
