Billy Packer is gone. CBS is going in another direction.
Yeah I know, but he was always Mr. Power-Conference. He hated it when a mid-major school was selected as an at-large pick in the NCAA Tournament.
Was it 2006 or 2007 Jim Nance and him lost it on the air when the selection comittee took all the mid majors. big Power Conference guy.
I think it was '06. UCONN went down to GW. The Huskies had FOUR first round picks and Denham Brown went in the second round. That was the most frustrating team ever.
Plus Mason was an at-large bid that year. And the MVC got something like 4 bids that year. According to Kyle Whelliston, who's the mid-major guy for ESPN, when George Mason was in the Final Four a few years ago, Packer told another reporter while looking over Mason's media guide "Wake me when this mid-major s*** is over."

Ugh.....thanks for bringing THAT up!!! ;)

This year's team may be just as frustrating for the first couple of big games...but if they stay healthy, they will be a force in March.
