Has anyone ever submitted an article to have published in a magazine?

I just wrote a summary about my solo trip to the BVI last Thanksgiving and I want to see if any magazine will publish it.

Any advice as to how this process works?

Yes I have. You need to find several magazines that are suitable for the article. Then you need to either buy the magazine or go online and find their submission guidelines and follow them. Most likely you will need to send a query letter. Do a google search for how to write a good one. f you get writer's digest or have access to the large book with all of the writers submission info in it check this out. You should know the name of the editor you want to send your query to. You can also research how often they accept queried submissions from new writers. There are still a few magazines that will accept unsolicited work and those are usually easier to get into.
