Did Jimmy Ever Record the I-95 Song?

I am trying to determine if Jimmy ever performed or recorded the I-95 a**hole song. There are several places on the internet which state that Jimmy recorded the song years ago; however, I can not find it on any of his albums. There are also several places that claim the song was written and recorded by Fred "August" Campbell and the Spur of the Moment Band. They supposedly recorded the song in Ft Lauderdale. The recording credited to Jimmy and the one credited to Campbell are identical, so obviously one is mislabeled/misidentified.

I think all those places on the internet that list JB as the singer are incorrect.
This has been discussed a few times before
and welcome to BN

No, Jimmy Buffett never recorded The I-95 song.
It was wrongly attributed to him back when Kazaa and Napster were new things.
It is Jimmy Sturr singing, although he does have a similar voice.

Since he has been accused so often of recording the song....and lives near I-95 on and off thru the year.....he ought to record it. It would definately end the confusion as to whether he ever recorede it.

The song was written by Fred "August" Campbell and has been sung by many, but the one that sounds most like Jimmy was recorded by David Allan Coe, maybe Jimmy should just do a cover of it to settle this once and for all

Thanks to all for the responses. Obviously everyone seems sure that Jimmy never did the song. I agree with the suggestion that he should as it is definitely a Buffett type song, I have seen other postings mentioning David Allan Coe as the recorder, but who in the world is Jimmy Sturr. I have also seen a posting by someone saying they have a physical recording (real record) of the song done by August Campbell and the Sput of the Moment Band which sounds identical to the version being credited to Jimmy. Anyway, thanks for responses. Too bad Jimmy never recorded it.

I hope he never records this song, he's done enough bad cover tunes already. Do we really need another one?
