Margaritaville Guacamole
Ok, I know we've all panned the tequilla and Landshark, but I think there may be a winner with the guacamole! I bought some today and opened it up tonight. Mild spice, peppers and big chucks of "fresh" avocado. Mikey likes it!

I give the salsa (both mild and spicy) about a B+. The dips are a D. The chips are a B. Tried them all out. They are all pricey (surprise, surprise) and there are other brands that are better. Out of all of it, I'd probably buy the salsa occasionally, but nothing else.chippewa wrote:Meijer started carrying all the dips, salsa, chips, etc. about the same time they quit carrying the chicken & shrimp frozen foods.

There's really nothing to it, you just smash ripe avocados (3-4 medium sized or more depending on how much guac you want) & add diced tomatoes, onions, & lime (or lemmon) juice.Mon wrote:I never tried to make it fresh - I always have to wait until we go to a restaurant. I add diced (& de-veined) jalapenos, but you can add anything you want. Mix together. That's it!

I was thinking the same thing......guacamole is not one of the more labor intensive things to make!Dezdmona wrote:I can't imagine ever buying pre-made guacamole, it's so easy to make fresh, and I can customize it the way I like it.

I always add just a dash of cumin in mine, too......I skip the jalapenos because my family doesn't like spicy.Dezdmona wrote:There's really nothing to it, you just smash ripe avocados (3-4 medium sized or more depending on how much guac you want) & add diced tomatoes, onions, & lime (or lemmon) juice.Mon wrote:I never tried to make it fresh - I always have to wait until we go to a restaurant. squish them together till mixed well. I move contents away from a bottom
corner snip the corner off with scissors and then squeeze it all out like it
were a pastry/icing bag.

guacamole??? are you kidding me?
Can you imagine the preservatives and other crap they would have to add
to a product that usually is BEST prepared FRESH from the kitchen?
I don't want my "guawk" prepared the same way as they do the nacho cheesey sauce!!
..and I don't want that two-pound Nestle Crunch!!
I want my Junior Mints!!
