This was posted on a local radio station's website and I thought it was pretty cool - I'll be wearing blue on Fridays - will you?

We recieved this email via listener Bridgett:

Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing blue every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that .. every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something blue.

IF YOU AGREE -- THEN SEND THIS ON.

IF YOU COULDN'T CARE LESS -- THEN HIT THE DELETE BUTTON.

IT IS YOUR CHOICE.

Sorry dude. The election's still too fresh...

Sounds to me like somebody's trying to give the perception that all of America is turning "blue" (Democrat) and they're using our men and women in uniform as a means to that end. :x

That being said.... you want to wear U.S. flag pins, red/white/blue ribbons, or such as a means to show support of the troops, and I'm in.

I don't wear colors to support any political party.. but I often wear my American Flag pin, in support of my county. :D

Sorry... didn't mean to imply you were the one starting the movement.

Just meant "sorry, sounds like a partisan thing and I'm not really up to playing that game right now."

All the best... dudette!

Many Canadians wear red on Fridays to show support of the troops (especially those in Afghanistan).

Great piece on Canadians honoring their fallen heroes on yesterday's NBC News. Hope this link works, it was a very touching piece.

I can't keep up with all the colors I'm supposed to wear to support various causes. Seriously doubt most people even notice to be honest.

I like the idea of wearing a flag pin, it's a symbol everyone recognizes on sight.
I fly a flag at my house every day, and have since 9/11.

Looks like the color changed when the political climate changed in Washington.

In 2005 it was red.

I got a better idea. How about if we all wear purple .... which is what you get when you combine red and blue. Kind of a unity thing. And then nobody can claim any partisan BS.

Wasn't that amazing? I had tears in my eyes by the end of the piece. Very proud to say I'm half Canadian, and have a Military heritage on both sides of the family tree.
