Hey Ryan, We've been wondering how you all have been since the Madonna show. We hope you, Kathy and Lil' Mac have a great holiday. We'll let you know how the trip turns out. We are hoping for no earthquakes and hurricanes on this vacation. <smile>MileHighPirate wrote:Wayne,

If you are not up to bicycling by the time you get to Key West, they have bicycle taxis there. Can't remember how much they charge. Also, do take the Conch Train around to save some wear and tear on your feet.
Get well soon!!!!
Thank you for the phin power! Surgery was 3 hours late. I got so frustrated waiting that I was tempted to get up and walk (crawl) out of there. I guess I was feeling anxious before the surgery. But after all the waiting and worrying, the surgery went well. It was a full Achilles tendon tear. No work for six weeks, but at least I have 8 weeks sick leave saved up. Doc says if I follow his directions, I should be up and dancing by the second week in March. Now if Jimmy were to announce some early Spring tour dates somewhere down South, I can use sick leave to go to the show. Just don't tell my boss.mrmiata wrote:I'll lift a drink to your health in 24 days on my 40th in Key West, catsway.
So glad your surgery went well.......catsway wrote:digitalprintman wrote:Hope the healing process goes quick for you catsway.

Here's hoping that you can use a Jimmy show to cure what ails ya! Glad to hear the surgery went well and you should be up and about in what really amounts to no time.catsway wrote: Thank you for the phin power! Surgery was 3 hours late. Thats great that you will make the Chart Room Bar. Its not a trip to Key West without a beer or two there. I will be there in April, I can't wait to chug a Red Stripe and play some Trivial Pursuit. (The locals always win, I think they have been asking the same questions for the last 15 years) I'm sorry you hurt yourself but if you had to get hurt at least it was for a good cause - the Tiki Hutcatsway wrote:We are now inside 45 days until we cruise. A quick update, we thought that we would have to miss the Chart Room for cocktails since the ship departs at 5PM and we thought that we'd have to be back on board by 4PM. The Chart Room opens at 4PM. Well, we found out today that we don't have to be back on board until 4:30, so we can roll the dice, slam a couple of drinks at the Chart Room and still make it back to the ship just in time. We like to live on the edge...![]()
Wayne's surgery is still healing and looks like he should be back on his feet by mid-March. We are counting down the days now.
Thank you for the Phin power CD3. The hut is almost done. Several friends came over to help us finish it. We ordered the thatch and we should be having a Tiki Hut warming party on the Monday before Fat Tuesday.ContinentalDrifterIII wrote:Thats great that you will make the Chart Room Bar. Glad to hear your surgery went well! To help the recovery process check out http://www.floridakeyswebcams.tv/. It keeps me going during these cold winter days.catsway wrote:It's time to resurrect this thread. It's sixty days until my birthday in Key West. But lo and behold, I slipped in my back yard two days ago (while building a Tiki Hut) and ruptured my Achilles tendon. I am off to the hospital in and hour or so to have it repaired. The Doc says six weeks of no weight bearing and maybe a total of 8 weeks rehab. I am praying that I will be well enough to complete my birthday celebration in Key West. We are still going to be on the cruise but I really want to bike around Old Town all day and live vicariously through Jimmy. A little Phin power may be needed.
