Wayne,

Good for the both of you!

Sounds like a WONDERFUL TRIP!!

Feel free to email me at my personal email. I'd love to hear the rest of your cruise story, ports of call, pics, etc.

Tell Cathi we said hi and email when you can!

Those pics and stories took me away from the fact that it's 10 degrees outside my log cabin home right now!

Glad you enjoyed your time in Key West. To add to your storyabout angels in Key West....

The first time I took my now-husband to Key West, we were staying at a friend's condo on Islamorada. We drove down for the day and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. As we were heading back to Isla that evening, our car broke down in front of what I thought was a sleazy bar. A guy from the "bar" was standing outside and told helped us push the car out of the intersection and park it behind the bar. We took off on foot looking for a place to stay for the night. No rooms in any inns except for La Concha at $250 a night (and this was 20 years ago). We decided to back and try to sleep in the car. Shortly after we settled in (ha) there was a knock on the window. It was "the guy from the bar" with two blankets, telling us it could get cool at night and to just put them on the fence in the morning. We snuggled down under the blankies and soon there was another knock on the window. This time it was a rather elegant looking woman who said, you can't sleep in there all night. Come into the restaurant." We went in and it was a lovely French restaurant (now Cafe Sole). The couple owned it and fed us and took us home for the night. The next morning they fixed us coffee, called a local's garage, and took us to a car rental place. My husband (a cop) was amazed at the warmth and hospitality. That was HIS introduction to Key West and why we have gone back virtually every year since. :wench:

Looks like you had an incredible time.

We've decided we're probably going back for an encore at the same time next year. We can't wait!

Just catching up on this thread.... Wonderful to read about your adventures in our favorite place! We celebrated our 5th, 10th, 11th and several more wedding anniversaries in Key West, and hubby's 50th b'day.
