I wanted to start a thread for those of you who wanted to share any close encounters with Jimmy you might have had.
I know a lot of you have actually met him and have had your picture taken with him. I have not been that lucky, but had a great experience.
I was at the Atlantic City show this year and we were in the 27th row from the stage. Great seats to begin with, but when he began his encore a bunch of people up front started to leave. I was with my girlfriend and we were very shocked that anyone would leave during the encore but took advantage of the situation. We were able to sneak up to the 4th row from center stage! Jimmy looked down and I think he noticed what was going on and smiled. I had my camera with me so I was able to get some really good pics and we were singing and dancing along to We are the People and Last Mango in Paris, it was a great experience.
never met him!!!(but had chances)...but i high fived him a couple of times!!!...got knuckles from Mac at Mohegan a couple of weeks ago as he was going on stage!!
My seat at the Jones Beach show back in August was on the far left, stage right, in the orchestra section and I was right on the aisle about 5 feet from the bay. When the band leaves the stage that's the aisle they use to get out. Jimmy walked right by me and I shook his hand. At last year's Paris show I was in the front row and Jimmy stayed onstage after the show signing autographs. He signed my ticket. But I never "met" him and honestly, I don't really care if I ever do. Meeting him won't change my life. Not meeting him won't be the end of the world. I'd much rather meet Jessica Alba.

Larry we had a chance a couple of years ago in Orlando!!!
Met him when he played at Margaritaville in Myrtle Beach in the lobby of the Hampton Inn. It was me and a friend of mine in the lobby, Charleston was in the lobby waiting for him to arrive and all of the sudden a white Lexus pulls up out front, he gets out walks into the lobby right by us (with the band) we asked him to sign our shirts and he kind of blew us off, we were p***. We were literally the only people in the lobby with the exception of the hotel staff and some clueless lady who was like "who was that?" So he goes up to his room and about ten minutes later we see his manager and Charleston in the lobby again. So we got out front and he comes out the front door, walks right up to me and my friend shakes our hands, signs our shtirts and talks with us for about 2 minutes! He was really cool, I even think he appologized for blowing us off the first time he said he had to go up to the room and write the set list for the show. This was at about 5:20 and the show was supposed to start at 5:00.
I know I dont get there often enough but god knows I surely try
I like reading everyone's stories. Keep 'em coming!
I've never met Jimmy and while I WOULD LOVE to meet him, I'm OK if it never happens. I'd probably be totally tongue-tied and blurt out something stupid anyway

If I didn't sit there drooling and stuttering like a goober the night I had dinner with Heather, I'm sure you'd be fine if you met Jimmy.
ContinentalDrifterIII (my adorable husband) got the chance to be on stage with him, when he won the raffle trip to Key West at the East Hampton '01 show! You can hear the whole thing when RM replays that show. Very cool

2010..
I came close once. A friend of mine had the choice of either the meet and gree backstage and 20 row seats or the Corona pre party and 10th row seats. He opted for the 10th row seats and the party and took his wife and me. Party was fabulous. Met former Chicago Bears kicker Kevin Butler
My dad played golf in the group behind him once in Florida about 15 years ago. Said Jimmy was really cool and took a picture with everyone and shook hands...
These are all really great stories, keep them coming
I thank the Lord for the people I have found

Larry missed Jimmy, because he was heading to yet another Buffett show up the road from Orlando.
What a great day that was for those BNers at Margaritaville.
I bordered (and may have) crossed the "don't interupt the man when he is eating" rule.
I was having brunch at a hotel in Washington DC and he was in the restaurant. Purely by coincidence, he was behind me at the dessert table and as he was picking up his creme brulee, I said hello and mentioned that I had seen him in concert the night before. He was nice and chatted a bit.
In retrospect, now that I'm older, I feel bad for saying anything. I should have let him be anonymous. Sorry Jimmy.
