PETER MAYER TO TAKE ‘STARS AND PROMISES TOUR’ ON THE ROAD FOR EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR
Tour will give back to local communities; kicks off in Arnold, MO Nov. 28
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – November 3, 2008 – Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Peter Mayer, widely known as the guitarist for Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefers, enters into his eighth consecutive with the Stars and Promises project and will stop in 15 cities nationwide.
Mayer, born in India to missionary parents, developed the tour from the inspiration of his family. Mayer says, “On Christmas Eve, my father would make a star out of a spotlight and a piece of gauze to show the Indian people from the village the way up the hill to our home where we would all gather.”
“It would send chills up my spine to hear these people, who had very little in terms of earthly wealth, sing with such joy and abandon. In the middle of it all, we shared a bit of Peace on Earth and we sang for what really matters – a Star to guide you home and a Promise that won’t fade with the passing years,” continues Mayer.
