Nice guy. Lousy president. Needs to stay home instead of presenting himself as an expert on foreign affairs (remember that little hostage situation?)Bwana Paul wrote:What do you think about the other Jimmy....

Sorry to those I've offended, but he asked....

Re: The other Jimmy.
But, he was involved with the Israel-Egypt peace agreement in 1979. So, he did get something right in foreign affairs department. But yeah, he had some misteps with the hostage crisis.krusin1 wrote:Nice guy. Lousy president. I was too young to care what he did politically at the time, but he does appear on many of the "worst presidents" lists. I do respect his work with Habitat for Humanity. Unlike celebs that volunteer for a 30-minute photo op, I'll bet he's hammered his thumb a few times.
A prolific writer too. I recommend Turning Point: A Candidate, a State, and a Nation Come of Age, about his first campaign for public office and the crooked politics of the south at the time.

A jerk. He gave away the Panama Canal and kept the USA out of the
Moscow Olympics (crushing the dreams of hundreds of American
athletes who had worked for years for that one moment to come along,
just to make a political statement). I don't give a crap if he builds a
hundred houses.
