I'm more surprised that Radio Shack isn't filing for Chapter 11. [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif]

An as I typed that, I reminded myself of a very funny article from The Onion on that same topic. (I don't mean to derail your thread)

Shouldn't come as much of a surprise. They deal with low-end toys and tried to complete with high-discount retailers. :-? :-?

They are located mostly in malls, and the mall business isn't what it used to be. Small, and big rents to pay.

Toys R Us are mostly stand alones or strip malls, and destination stores.
They do toys better than most... and don't forget Walmart.

Sorry to hear that. We lived in Dalton, Georgia (North Ga) when son was 5-8 years old, and KB Toys in the mall was the place to shop for EVERY birthday party and summer play toys, and every trip to the mall included a swing through KB Toys. :(

Ahh man!

I worked at KB Toys back in the day (1987!) while in high school, and it was pretty cool.

'Course it helped that I was the only guy the manager hired - rest of the staff was an interesting collection of blondes, brunettes, and redheads - all fun-loving and all single. :pirate: :pirate:

Sail on KB Toys - you were good to me.
