What are your hobbies?

Post by bestseller92 »

What do y'all do to relax or have fun in your off-hours?

Personally, I like to listen to music, write, read, shoot, camp and hike.

Any other shooters here?

I hear Jimmy is a 1911 fan -- can anyone confirm/deny?

I do like to shoot skeet...don't get to very often though. don't ask me anything about types of guns though. I just shoot whatever hubby gives me. I think a Thompson Contender is what I first shot with.

The Thompson/Center Contender is one cool gun, though some of the calibers they make the barrels in...well, I have no desire to lose an arm to recoil :).

Interesting! Don't know the answer to that one, but I wouldn't be surprised. Nice weapon.

I haven't been sailing or scuba diving in awhile, but I've probably spent more money on those than any of my other interests. I've done a lot of shooting but never really considered it a hobby. (The 1911 is a nice weapon and I was not impressed when Uncle Sam traded mine in on a 9mm Beretta.)

These days I enjoy music, travel, reading and writing.

Another shooter here. I have a Marlin 30-30 that I use for deer hunting and for Christmas this year I was given my mom's 45 caliber muzzleloader. We lost her 10 years ago to cancer, so that gun means a lot to me......

I also enjoy reading, scrapbooking/rubber stamping, working with my dog, and going out with my girlfriends.

Camping and geocaching, when I have the time. Most of my spare time is shuttle service to keets': track practice/meets; basketball practice/games;
Cub Scout meetings; band practice/concerts. Dang, my 8 year old has more hobbies than I do.

I guess we can all put listening to Buffett music in the "given" file!

Outside of the Buffett Life .... singing, scrapbooking (although very behind), Zumba, painting ( I will have to get a pick of my mermaid chair on here that I made for a friend of mine!) and that's about it.

This year my goal is to learn piano..... we shall see!

In the summer, camping and ATV riding......and of course, there's that little Harley-Davidson obsession....that seems to take up quite of bit of time and disposable income!

I also collect vintage (1959-69) Barbie dolls and baby boomer toys.....although I haven't been actively pursuing that for a while.
I do love my dollies, though.
