George Mitchell Surveys the Construction at The Pavilion George Mitchell, founder of The Woodlands, surveys the construction underway at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion with Jerry MacDonald, president and CEO of The Pavilion. The $9 million renovation and expansion project began in December 2008 following damage sustained by Hurricane Ike in September. The renovation includes construction of approximately 2,000 new reserved seats behind the existing uncovered seating area and building a larger canopy structure to cover all 6,500 seats.
Renovations are expected to be complete by April 30, 2009, in time for an early May opening of the venue's 20th season. Visit our site for upcoming information on our 20th season.
