'Roid is claiming naivete
Everyone was doing it in Texas clubhouse (he ain't wrong about that!)

Fact is, power hitters throughout the whole league were doing it... it wasn't illegal.

in '01, Phil Nevin hit 41 HR's where he had done hardly that in seasons prior.
in SD, we loved it! Who doesn't love the long ball?

We gotta get over our self righteous selves and just move on...

My problem with ARod is simple. While all his peers were being dragged through the mud he said nothing. He said nothing when he won the MVP in 2003. He said nothing when the Yankees gave him a 300 million dollar contact (with incentives . . .). He said nothing when he signed the contract that gives him 6 million dollars when he passes Mays - 6 million when he passes Ruth - 6 million when he pases Aaron - 6 million when he passes Bonds . . . imagine how stupid the Yankees will look when the cut those checks. I bet ARod would've let everyone including the press call him the "LEGIT HOMERUN KING" . . . like the arrogant a$s that he is. He got caught. He didn't admit to anything. He knows there is more info. coming out. He knows his career is f*cked. But he will get paid. He will get paid each time he moves past the above names on the homerun list. He knew he took "banned substances" and he said nothing. F*ck you ARod.

I was stunned when the news came out about him testing poisitive. Now I just really do not care anymore.

ARod told Katie Couric last year "I would never use steroids" as he peers were being dragged through the mud. Coward. Liar. A$shole. Best I can say about the guy.

The reason why it lasted so long in baseball before being public is that everyone made money. The players made more because of performance, agents made more because players could make more, owners made more because people came in big numbers and stadium advertising and broadcast rights went up, MEDIA made more because of newspaper sales increased and advertising sales go up, radio/TV ratings increased and they could then sell their product for more. It wasn't until it became so overdone that it could no longer be ignored and then Ken Caminiti spilled the beans. Once it was out the homeymoon was over. What it all comes down to is $10 beers and the average fan no longer being able to spend a day at the ballpark for the family without taking a loan which you can no longer get from the banks.

The Rangers owner was not too happy hearing the news about Rodriguez, especially since he asked him about steroid use before signing him. I wonder if he can sue for breach of contract to get some of that money back?

That is where you are wrong, my friend.
It WAS illegal.

It was illegal in the United States of America.
It was illegal in Canada.

Baseball is not an autonomous collective. They fall under the laws of the nations in which they collect their paychecks.
Just because Baseball didn't have a rule SPECIFICALLY stating that steroids were illegal, that doesn't change the fact that they were all in violation of US FEDERAL LAW.

His issues go beyond steroids. He is accused of Perjury, just like Barry Bonds.

The, "I don't speak English," card had already been played.

He still did more than Big Mac. Good ol' Big Mac's stop the game and look Roger Maris's family in the eye and tell them what an honor it was to be part of baseball history and associated with the great Roger Maris. arsewipe

This is true....the White Sock had him a couple of times at the end of his career and he was a shell of what he was.

Baseball is back and I'm a happy camper!!!! Just think how excited I'd be if I actually rooted for a perennial contender!

Happy to see that Kevin Millar signed a minor league deal with the Blue Jays. I wish him well and say "thanks" for his years of team leadership while at Baltimore.......a good guy. :pirate:
