Tigers have lost 3 of their last 4 games......
ALL BY 2-1 scores!
What a waste of great pitching. To say we need some bats in the lineup is the understatement of the year. Rumblings that they're interested in Matt Holliday of the A's.

Quite frustrating since pitching always seemed to be our problem in the past. Sure would be nice to have both working at the same time....

Good thing he doesn't pitch for the Tigers. He

It's kind of a refreshing look when CNN has in their breaking new segment about Beurhlie throwing a perfect game and not some warehouse burning down somewhere.....

Unbelievable catch, especially considering the situation

Wise's catch was literally the best regular season catch EVER considering the circumstances. I dare anyone to name a better catch. Wise was a defensive replacement who had sat cold for 8 innings. The ball hit was easily a home run ball that, if not caught, no one would have blamed Wise. The extra added bobble at the end was just extra added - albeit unnecessary - excitement. Amazing! I bet the White Sox move up considerably in ESPN's power rankings after this team effort . . .
(although there was one ball called foul that might be a tad subject; but whatever. Great job Mr. Buerhle!).

I was flipping through the channels yesterday, and for a few brief moments, it was on the Chicago Sports Network station, and that game was on during the bottom of the sixth inning.
Normally I would've just kept watching, but, not knowing a perfect game was in progress, I kept changing the channels and ended up watching the John Wayne/Dean Martin/Rick Nelson/Walter Brennan movie, "Rio Bravo."
DAMN!
I could've witnessed history being made.
Oh well, congratulations to Beurhle and the White Sox anyway.

Rio Bravo on a Thursday afternoon is not a bad alternative....they'll be showing this on ESPN classic soon

not only was it his second no hitter, but the same umpire was behind the plate for both of those games

I think once Wakefield returns from the DL the great Smoltz experiment may be over. One decent start (KC) in 4 doesn't bode well. His fast ball is flat and down the middle. No room in the bullpen (barring a trade), so what do they do with him?
BTW, I have tix for Tuesday And Thursday vs Oakland.
