Actually, I'm sure Denver has lots of kid friendly museum's.
Dallas has the "science place" which has hands on stuff, and and the Dallas World Aquarium (which quite a few BN'rs have been to), it's kinda like an inside mini zoo + aquarium.
Every city has their own specialties...
Oh, we also have a flight museum near one of the smaller airports...
I'm sure Denver has something that would appeal to your son & his friends interests.
didn't they use to have a program at Science Place where you could have a sleep over type party?

Dallas also used to have a indoor amusement type park that kids loved. Unfortunately it shut down.

Word of warning - if you've got a Chuck E Cheese NEVER go hung over. They do a good kids pizza party.
Our Aquarium does sleep overs---not sure 5 isn't too young, but might be something to look into later.
Yeah, still a bit young for those sleep-over type things, but I'm sure those will be in his future. Our aquarium, museum, zoo, etc. all have sleepover parties.

That's cool!!

Sure is! http://www.denverfirefightersmuseum.org/index.htm

I used to "spend quality time" with a dude who's now-ex-wife used to work there as preservationist or something. Isn't it funny how those things come full circle?

And I'm sure you have inside playgrounds?
I'm really thinking about McDonald's too. The only downside to that is Victoria wouldn't be able to go because the risk of being glutened would be too great.
Yeah, that does s***. Both of my boys have to bring their own desserts for parties (which doesn't seem to bother them yet). The one with the dairy allergy has to bring his own lunch/snack too if they are serving one. It's a pain in the ass but we do keep a supply of cupcakes in the freezer.

My older son is stoked because he is going to a party on Saturday for a friend who is also allergic to nuts so he will be able to eat the cake. Ahh, the simple things in life...

We pretty much travel with an extra meal packed for Victoria at all times, plus a stash of gluten-free cupcakes in the freezer. Nuts are a piece of cake to avoid compared to gluten, and his nut allergy isn't severe whereas her gluten issues mean dry-heaves for about a half hour and GI distress for days.

It's SO nice on the rare occasions when we just don't have to worry about it!

We went to a Christmas party/dinner of some old family friends. They didn't get it. Their grandkids (my kids age) don't have allergies so if was a veritable smorgasbord of nuts and dairy. The next night we went to a New Years eve party hosted by a friend who totally gets it. It was like day and night.

We've got some friends who kid was just diagnosed with celiac. I think they passed the anger and denial stage and are now just freakin' happy they figured out what was wrong with their kid.

I tell ya', with all the allergies in my house and my 5 yr old having a diet of, well, a 5 yr old, I sometimes want to bang my f'n head against a wall. I don't know how you do it.
