Re: EAGLES-Moline, IL, March 18, 2009
You'll have a great time.
The last time I saw The Eagles was in 1978 in Sydney, Australia. (Their opening act was Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show).
Anyway, I could've gotten tickets to that concert in the nose bleed section 1/3 the price, but figured, what the hell, it's only money and it IS the Eagles, and it's a GREAT seat.

I'm pretty excited that I get to see them after over 30 years.
Be sure to let me know how the concert in Greensboro is. (As if I wouldn't be able to guess).

Re: EAGLES-Moline, IL, March 18, 2009
What a show! I imagine the show in March will very be similar.
9 songs from Long Road Out Of Eden. Woooo Hoooo!!!
But they did NOT play a few of the other good ones from that album, like Frail Grasp On The Big Picture, Last Good Time In Town and It's Your World Now.
Videoed the Band Intros, but only recognized the big four, Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey, Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmit. Steuart Smith (one of the co-producers of LROOE) also played guitar in the front with the rest of 'em.
If it's not listed what album it's originally from, then it's from Long Road Out Of Eden. Listed the albums for my benefit.
The Eagles, Greensboro NC, 1/17/2009:
1 How Long
2 Busy Being Fabulous
3 I Don't Want To Hear Any More ("Timothy B. Schmit will sing this one")
4 Guilty Of The Crime ("and Joe Walsh will sing this one")
5 Hotel California (Hotel California, 1976)
6 Peaceful Easy Feeling (The Eagles, 1972)
7 I Can't Tell You Why (The Long Run, 1979)
8 Witchy Woman (The Eagles, 1972)
9 Lyin' Eyes (One Of These Nights, 1975)
10 The Boys OF Summer (Don Henley, Building The Perfect Beast, 1984)
11 In The City (The Long Run, 1979)
12 The Long Run (The Long Run, 1979)
Break
Seated set:
13 No More Walks In The Wood
14 Waiting In The Weeds
15 No More Cloudy Days
16 Love Will Keep Us Alive (Hell Freezes Over, 1994)
17 Take It To The Limit (One Of These Nights, 1975)
Unseated:
18 Long Road Out Of Eden
19 Somebody
20 Walk Away (James Gang, Thirds, 1971)
21 One Of These Nights (One Of These Nights, 1975)
22 Life's Been Good (Joe Walsh, But Seriously, Folks, 1978)
23 Dirty Laundry (Don Henley, I Can't Stand Still, 1982)
24 Funk #49 (James Gang, Rides Again, 1970)
25 Heartache Tonight (The Long Run, 1979)
26 Life In The Fast Lane (Hotel California, 1976)
Encore:
27 Take It Easy (The Eagles, 1972)
28 Desperado (Desperado, 1973)

Re: EAGLES-Moline, IL, March 18, 2009
Thanks for the "stuff" gbman!
Here is a photo of Steuart Smith. He's a fascinating guitarist. I remember seeing him when he toured with Dar Williams. He also played with Rodney Crowell and the Cicadas and has played on several of Mac McAnally's albums.

Watch these with Rodney.
And with Shawn Colvin at Lilith Fair
OK, back to the Eagles. Wish I could make it to see them yet.

Yes, you should go. We got our tickets a little late, and that's why we were on the side like that. It wasn't that bad at all, and I'm pretty sure they were cheaper than 6th row dead center!SunBunny718 wrote:Oooooh...I'm originally from Moline.....if they still have tickets, maybe I should go....
Here's Desperado and them all waving their final goodbyes. We were right in front of the steps leaving the stage.
Best to right click and save as...
Desperado and final goodbyes (32mb wmv)
-and/or-
Desperado and final goodbyes (115mb higher quality mpg)

Next time you D.D. me, make sure you're actually DRUNK, okay?
Great show - you will love it and the 6th row center tix - definately worth it!!!

Re: EAGLES-Moline, IL, March 18, 2009
gbman and m&MM...that looks like about the same angle to the stage we had in Toronto last summer!
Price was right and it's all that was left one week before the show when we decided to go. However, in Toronto they exited the stage on the OTHER side.
It was such a great concert that part of Mr. BP's Christmas gift included tickets to see them again in Columbus.
Thanks for the great pics and thorough (as usual
) setlist!!!

Re: EAGLES-Moline, IL, March 18, 2009
Ours was $140, including all the fees. Not bad!
In Greensboro, we were 4th row in the equivalent of Moline Section 101. Probably just a bit more expensive in NC?

Not bad? I had seats in the 10th row for Plant and Krauss over the summer that cost roughly $80 after service charges. That's what I'd consider "not bad".gingerbreadman wrote:Ours was $140, including all the fees. Not bad!
