my sisters son, Andrew, will find out tomorrow ( Switzerland time ) if he has been selected to become one of 8 young explorers that will join mike horn on an environmental expedition to New Zealand. he was selected from hundreds of applicants from all over the world. the semi final "training" cut got down to 18. this has been taking place in switzerland over the past 11 days. we have been monitoring what the group has been up to day by day. it's a really cool project and Andrew is the only finalist from the u.s. the entire project is financed by corporations like Mercedes, mumm's ( champagne ) and orangina.

wish him well, he'll be devastated ( us too) if he doesn't make it.

He made it!!!!

Andrew will be going to New Zeland in May on the 110' sailboat. He will miss his h.s. graduation, but I'm sure he's not too upset about that.
