Re: Playa del Carmen Travel
I might agree...however, he's staying at an AI resort outside of Playa. If he can get to all those bars in 6 days, away from his resort, where the drinks are included, he's gonna have himself one expensive vacation!Elrod wrote: I count 102 names on the list (including closed bars). 102 / 6= 17 per day. He could do it if he's motivated.
Next time though - might want to try staying at a non AI IN Playa!
Have fun trying though!

And we're leaving Saturday for Cozumel. NOT worried. We see the same 'threat' of catching the seasonal flu or a cold just the same as ever.BigR-KyParrothead wrote:this swine flu thingy has me a bit worried

We've got a trip scheduled in June and I'm not cancelling unless it gets much worse, or Big Brother tells me I can't go.
Being on a beach and in chlorinated pools is a heck of a lot better than being in an office and touching copiers, phones, elevator buttons, etc., that a TON of people touch every day.

Re: Playa del Carmen Travel
after reading up on things after i posted about being worried....
i am convinced this thing has been way over-blown. so much media attention about a virus that is not as bad as the average run of the mill flu virus.
i will still go without any reservations........
but i may bring some tamiflu along just in case

I'm at the Royal in PDC this trip...a TA freebie so works for me!
Last month I rented a GREAT beachfront condo, the month before a condo on 1st Ave, the month before I was at Playa Palms, the month before that at the Iberostar Grand. Never really know where I'll turn up!

We're staying at the Barcelo. The wife and I stayed in Playa del Carmen at Hotel La Tortuga in 2007 and loved it. We're taking the kiddos this year.

I'm in on 5/31 and out on 6/4. Bringing a Playa newbie with me - is SHE in for a treat or what?!
