Have a great trip (honestly, you'd have to make an effort not to enjoy KW.......) and, yes, definitely try the banana pancakes at Blue Heaven. You will not be disappointed! :pirate:

Also, try Pepe's not far from Schooner Wharf, BO's Fishwagon, and JB's Shrimpboat Sound for breakfast, too! Don't let the exterior fool you, just go in......trust me :D Here's Pepe's link: http://www.pepescafe.net/

Ahh, Key West, how I miss you already...we got back on Wednesday night and had a GREAT trip. Beautiful weather, cold beer, chilled shrimp, a great inn (Heron House), and more cold beer...:wench: Here are some winners from our trip. My vote for coldest beer and best shrimp: A tie between Conch Farm and Half Shell. Best Bloody: Tree Bar. Best Dark & Stormys: Schooner Wharf. Best Local Entertainment: Michael McCloud in the afternoon at Schooner Wharf. Best spot to catch a stiff breeze and a cold drink: tie between Schooner Wharf & the Afterdeck. Best wings: Kelly's jerk wings during happy hour. Best Conch Fritters: interestingly, a cart at Mallory Square during sunset. Best place to play pool: Captain Tonys. Best place to play ping-pong: Blue Heaven. Best fish sandwich: tie between BOs and Schooner Wharf. Best place to be when they blow that final cruise ship horn and the cruise folk depart: Hogs Breath. Best oysters: Hogs Breath. Best free hot dogs: Chart Room bar. Best bartenders: the guys at the Chart Room. I somehow left my shorts there one afternoon :o and as soon as I walked in the next day, they presented them to me and immediately gave me a Red Stripe. There's so much more, but I figured this will keep you informed for now. :D

Our fav at Blue Heaven is still the Lobster Benedict and get a side of Banana Bread. The Lobster Benedict was $20 when I was there in February and worth every penny especially with the Key Lime Juice in the Hollandaise sauce.

My girlfriend has Baby's Coffee shipped to the house on a regular basis. She saves it for the weekends for the little Splrugh.

Glad y'all had a great time! Glad you liked the Heron House.

I've got four friends down in the Keys this week, and they are going to call me from the Sloppy Joe's webcam, which I require all my friends to do. Does anyone have the link to that webcam handy, so I can call it up when they call me? If not, no worries. I'll just do a search later.... There's about a five-minute delay, I found, when one friend called me and I couldn't see her until she was about ready to move on.

It's on this link page: http://www.floridakeyswebcams.tv/

Wasn't sure if you meant the street cam or the bar cam........Sloppy Joe's has two! (The Live Duval Street Cam is the one right outside) :pirate:

I stopped at "The Big Chill" last week on a quick trip to Key Largo for a couple of beers with a buddy that was in from out of town. Nice new place on the bay right as you hit Key Largo from the 18 mile strech. 2 big bars and a large pool, perfect for a day trip down from Miami. The bartender said it was $50 for a wrist band to get poolside but that gets credited to you bar tab/food bill. This place is much closer than Holiday Ilse but it really isnt "old school" keys.
Each day is better than the next.

Haven't been to Key West in over a year, so thinking about driving down through the keys Memorial Day weekend, and probably pulling the Hobie Cat! Any suggestions on the best/most scenic sailing spots/ocean front bars/restaurants between Key West and Miami? Keep in mind, we don't have an engine, and don't like to paddle. :pirate:

Thanks. It just doesn't "feel" like Key West. I love that type of restaurant but I was hoping form more of a hole-in-the-wall type place. Not a big chain. I bet they have some killer caprinhas though.
