Thanks Penny for the work on getting this together. It's a great start and now maybe some of us others can pitch in to make this a work in progress. The first step has to happen before anything else gets done.

Thank You!!!!!!!

Long as all the info's in one thread, I think it's great! :D

Thank you for consolidating the Key West threads. When we started the "My Birthday in KW" thread, we were seeking specific info for cruisers who would only be on island for 8-9 hours. We wanted a specific, self-guided tour that would take us to some of the old haunts of Jimmy's during his early days in KW. My goodness, did we get lots of help from BNer's! The best advice we got was from a "local" who PM'ed us a four page guide to all the places we wanted to go. It is the perfect guide for us for an eight hour adventure. Thanks to all the BN friends who helped us plan our day in KW.

Easier to do once the threads were found. Good for you. :) I get distracted a lot by having moderator/life/work stuff to do while I tried to find as many threads as I could. :)

thank you (((Penny)))

starting the sticky was a big help. pholks can add whatever they want to now, and you went above and beyond by finding the prior threads :D

Not necessarily disagreeing, but I'm still convinced that people would find this thread more useful if the first post was edited to contain the thread names rather than just the links. :)

all I can say is, "good god. Jim really needs to tune the search routines for a more precise fix, maybe allowing searches by thread title, as well as text within threads. Most of these are the same thread groups: 'where do I stay?', 'where do I eat?', 'what is there to do?'."

that, and most people posting on this should be taking the 5 seconds necessary to realize, "hey, this question has probably been asked before, so if I do a search for my question, chances are..."

If you're staying in Key West and have no children, Key West Harbor Inn is the place to be!

Right behind JB's recording studio, Shripboat Sound.

Crawling distance from Schooner Wharf Bar... :wench:

This is great I guess.
We could've used something like this for all of the "Kenny Chesney and Landshark sux" threads a while back

Great idea with the sticky... but looking at the next couple threads I think it'll be a while before they catch on. 8)

Older threads were left open, and new ones will be locked and redirected. :)

If someone is looking at BN for Key West suggestions, wouldn't it be REQUIRED to make a stop by Shrimpboat Sound for a picture outside of the recording studio? :D

I know I did.

Thanks Sis :) Great job, this is a topic that will keep coming up over and over. Thanks Chris and Dave for your work, too :)

How about a KW forum?

I'll be down there in a matter of days for 8 days!
I need a new pic in front of Shrimpboat Sound.
The only one I have of it is when I was pushing 300 pounds a few years back, plus one of the
workers is in the background giving my a look like I was a crazy fruitcake  which really goes without saying [smilie=sillyjester.gif]

Mammabear,

If costs is not a big thing to you checkout this site from 2008. Granted the room costs will probably be rather high. But would be unforgettable

Another rather upscale Thanksgiving dinner option:

Perhaps a better value might be had at Pepe's. I see on the Yahoo ad they say something about Thanksgiving dinners on Thursdays and Pepe's is open everyday of the year. Very good restaurant and for the most part a very good value and great food

Living in KW for 1/2 the year I can tell you for Thanksgiving many of the locals spend the day at Dante's. Hanging by the pool and an awesome buffet for around $15
