Hey Wayne, not on the way down, I'm stopping in Lauderdale to pick up my sister at the airport. I'll be going down the pike thru Orlando, I might stop in Ft Myers on the way back. I'm going for a family reunion, my sisters have never been there but have heard me talk about the place for 40 years. I liked the Keys better in the 70's but one can't stop progress. The only improvement I'm happy with are the bridges, those old narrow 2 lane bridges caused at least one fatality every week back then.

Current forecasts are for Irene to pass along Florida's east coast, no direct hit in the Keys.......you should be just fine! Enjoy.....

OK, we had to deal with Irene over the weekend......thankfully, for us here in central PA, it was mainly a rain event.

So glad the storm didn't hit the Mid-Atlantic & New England as a Cat 3 as originally feared.....

Given the nasty weather forecast on Saturday my wife and I stayed home and did the only logical thing we could think of: Booked a trip to Key West!

We confirmed a condo at Truman Annex for a week in April 2012.......
