Hello All, my wife and some friends will be coming for the South Bay and definitely want to tailgate (or pre-party someplace offsite if tailgating isn't allowed...). Does anyone know of any party buses going to Concord from the South Bay or Penninsula? Would love to hook up with some PH's before the show; will have guitar and am ready to sing your favorite tune with y'all!

Hey Joe,

Do you gig out, or just play for phriends and phamily?

If you're playing out and about, we should definitely talk.

Cheers,

Loren

Know the Pavillion well and they do not allow any pre-partying at all. Sounds like I had the same ticket experience as you all. On right at 10 aon Ticketmaster and only got 204. Guess I should not complain as I have good seats for the Maui and Waikiki show.

Another thought I had today for tailgating would be to reserve a picnic site at one of the town parks.

http://www.ci.concord.ca.us/recreation/parks/picnic.htm

Should be pretty close to a tailgate atmosphere being outdoors with grills and all. It would cost some money, however. I thought that Ygnacio Valley Park might be a good option, or Newhall Park which closer, but larger and costlier. Any thoughts?

The biggest question is: how close are they?????

If we reserved a site can you camp there?????????????????

I doubt that camping would be allowed.

As per google:
Ygnacio Valley Park would be ~18 min
Newhall Park would be ~12 min

Sounds like a great idea- We could arrange a bus or van to the concert

Have there been any developments on this? I'm over in Napa and am not familiar with Concord at all so sorry I can't be of any help. Hoping someone can arrange something not too far from the show.

Not sure if there has been any movement on getting things organized. I know I haven't since it is unclear what sort of interest there is in putting something together. I'm in Stockton, but would be willing to man the telephones and e-mail if we decide to do something.

I'm still in favor of the above resturant/bar. It's only one mile from the pavillion and has plenty of room for us to party.

This is the only restaurant I am familiar with in Concord and we had talked about going here before the show! I'm all in favor of it. I didn't realize it was so close to the venue. I'll see if I can get on the phone with someone in management there to see if they can arrange something. I'm sure they would love the business.

Well, unfortunately it doesn't look like we can count on Guadalajara Grill unless we're less than 30 people. After asking for a manager and being rudely hung up on by the person who didn't speak English very well :x , I called back and got the following information:
The bar area only holds about 30 people and I am hoping we can get more than 30 people together.
They have a room you can book (no charge) but they don't have a bar in that room and there are no separate checks. Besides, it would basically just be a bunch of people standing around a room.
They don't seem very interested in having a large group of people, spending a lot of money on booze, in their establishment.

So, it looks like we need to find a plan B. Any ideas?
