Mr Play wrote:Yesterday was fun! We pulled right in at 9:00 and we were the first ones in the lot. We had the perfect spot within 100 feet of the main gate to the stadium. PHP canceled their porta-potties because they didn't think anyone would show up, so we had the only one in the whole lot. I had a line so I called and got 2 more, then the storms came. I sold about 100 wristbands but most people were just using them for the porta potties. I haven't seen it rain that hard since Hoot Island, but we partied right through it all. I braved the worst part of it in the warmth of the hot tub.
Thanks to Justshari and her husband for all of the work they put in yesterday. I tried to help cook a couple of times, and Terry told me to just go have fun.
Hawkeye from 96.3 KSCS did a live broadcast from the Leaky Tiki and talked about the charity work we're doing. Together we raised another $500 for charity, which is going to the Leukemia / Lymphoma Society in support of Mrs. Play's marathon.
George Strait on June 6 anyone?
DAMB I wish I lived closer to Texas! 'Specially since I'm going to miss seeing King George at Great Woods this year.... I'll be in Gettysburg that weekend.

Mr Play wrote:Sugarland canceled because one of the singers was sick. Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert played their whole sets in the downpour. Kenny Chesney played probably half of his set, until the lightning got close. When they shut it down they said he'd be back in a month or so at an indoor venue.
Seeee, that's why music should be played in an amphitheater.... The musicians stay dry and only the lawn people risk their lives....
