Who's Going to Irvine, 5/21/09?

Post by Lightning Bolt »

I'm a little stunned about NO SATURDAY dates down this way... sobriety is a lousy option :-?

It's just gonna have to be a 3-1/2 day weekend party!! 8) :D :pirate:

I will be at the Irvine show for sure. And sobriety isn’t a bad option for me.

I am glad JB is playing Irvine this year, I sure missed it last year…..

Looks like my son Shane will have to miss school for a day...maybe 2...

...
...however, kids and Irvine's lawn don't really mix...maybe just me and the wife this time (with seats-not grass)...and the grandparents watching the kids...

...sounds like a plan to me... :)

Usually from $50 lawn to $110 for middle-reserved to $225 for down in front.

Not set in stone, but that's been the norm for last few years.

Hello All, really looking forward to going back to Irvine; at the risk of asking a dumb question, can you still tailgate in the parking lot before the show? What time to the gates open? I was there in '06 and had a great time and hope tailgating is still an option; Will have guitar in hand and am ready to play all your favorites (especially School Boy Heart). Thanks, Joe and Yuko

YES...you can still tailgate...Last time the lot was scheduled to open at 3:00pm, but they actually opened it around 2:30pm. It's too bad it's so late now, I remember getting in around noon several years ago.

Try $158 each after TM and facility charges...

Do they have RV parking? considering bringing the 28 ft c class from Memphis just for tailgating.
Gates open at 3:00 p.m. concert at 8:00...Not much time to cram in some tailgating-but haven't done ANY since 2005 Gnashville...I think it was....

Last time they did indeed have RV parking, but had a big sign, no trailers.

We are all set!

Heather and I are really looking forward to the show and are making it an OC concert weekend as we will head out of Irvine over to The Pond (Honda Center) in Anaheim to see Fleetwood Mac Saturday!

Irvine is, and always will be "the holy grail of west coast shows". I started out seeing Jimmy here at Irvine in 1987. With 120 shows in between, we are really looking forward to this one, Thursday or not!

For those long timers, we used to bring in "Island Dancer", our 30' SeaRay boat on a trailer into Irvine in the early 1990's. I think we were the first to bring a boat in, and had many nutty tailgates! Alas, our 53 footer "Hotel California" is not an option without a semi.

This year we are bringing our new bus to the venue, and all BNer's are welcome to stop by for a drink!

Look for a 45' brown/gold Country Coach conversion with FINS BUS California plates, and our white convertible with PIRATE40 plates next to it!

Need a Jimmy fix!

The old Guys from Hooters N' Paradise will be there in full gear...Alas after the last run in with the local authorities, we will be leavin' the bar for Chula Vista where the weather is much more mellow and the cops are too, the beer is too cold and the drinks are too fruitiful!!! Can't wait for the tail gate...Ray man and the Hooters N' Paradise Boys!
Why don't we get drunk and
