Ok, now that I have made the reservations and waiting on tickets to go on sale, the biggest college football game of the year..........OU vs. Texas is on the same day. Being from Oklahoma and bringing a season ticket holder with me, where is the best place to go and watch the game while we are there? Here is hoping for an early kick off. Semi problem, but what a great weekend!!!!! An OU win over the evil empire, and then a Jimmy Buffett concert!!!!    Can't get any better than that!!!!

Mrs. DQ and I talked with Danny Gans when we were in town last year for the Buffett show. We were at the pool at the Mirage and he seemed like a nice guy.

Get outa here! Really? OU/Texas game weekend? Although, for some reason down here they call it the Texas/OU game. I live in Texas but am a diehard Sooner; born in Shawnee and lived in Norman for years! I want revenge! Go Sam! We should meet somewhere to watch it together. Boomer Sooner! [smilie=hellyeah.gif] Ooooh, I'll be in Vegas, I can even bet on the game! Yippee!

You are right it is not on the website. Nothing on Ticketmaster (though I am not sure if there was)

Someone call out to the MGM and ask about October...make a story up you are the tour coordinator for a group coming in and plan to play at MGM and see the concert...there are over 100 of us...see what you hear...

I will not have access to anything for a few days...

I was just at pollstar, and the only date that has been removed from the fall lineup is the Seattle date. The las Vegas dates are so far still intact. We are in wait and see mode.

Crikey!! Hope he still plays the two Saturdays in October. Booked flights and accommodation and none will be refundable. We should have waited until we got tickets for the show. Still we will have a good time anyway. Will go and see Love at the Mirage and also Englebert Humperdinck even perhaps Bono (some kind of relative through my niece's husband but he never appeared at her wedding).

I guess the moral of this story is never put the cart before the horse. When I made the plans for this trip the rates were so fantastic that I wanted to jump on them before they went up, and I figured that this show was a sure thing since it was announced. I really wish they would confirm one way or another if these dates are canceled. I'll still go as well because I really don't want to eat a plane ticket. I have enough fiber in my diet. Hopefully, we will know one way or another soon.

Seattle is gone. Looks like the 2 fall Vegas dates are gone also or moved to different dates.

Sometimes, and I certainly hope that this is the case in this situation, when shows aren't going to happen for several months the artist's web site will put the dates up for a while, take them down, and then relist them when an on sale date for tickets is known. The thing that is making me hold out a little hope is that the October Las Vegas dates are still listed on Pollstar, and the Seattle date has been removed. I feel very bad for the folks who had their hearts set on going to the Seattle show, because Jimmy had not been there for several years. I just hope we learn one way or another soon, but at least tickets had not gone on sale yet for these shows, so we haven't lost out that way.

I think Nadirah said at a recent concert that Jimmy was doing 2 shows in Paris and she was spending her birthday in Paris. Think her birthday is in October when the Vegas shows were going to be. Just our luck that we have booked everything in Vegas and perhaps and could have seen Jimmy nearly on our doorstep in Paris. We have now learnt never to book flights and accommodation before getting tickets for the shows. It was just such a good offer on the flights as we paid loads more last year. Just crossing our fingers he does play one of the Saturdays in October.

What I don't understand is the lack of decency on the part of the tour operators to at least give us some sort of explanation as to what is going on. I cannot believe that they, and Jimmy, would treat his loyal fans like this!

I think they are accomplishing exactly what the tour organizers wanted to do when the dates were removed from margaritaville.com. They are trying to insure that the Vegas show and the Irvine show this month end up selling out. Both shows still have plenty of tix available and they want people who are holding off until the fall to panic and buy tickets for this months shows.

I don't have inside knowledge of this plan...but it makes perfect business sense and I'd be surprised if you don't hear these shows re-announced later this month (with an on-sale shortly thereafter).

I agree with this point of view; releasing the full tour all at once may have comprimised ticket sales. In the past we would snatch up tickets for shows as soon as they were releaesed not knowing what the future had in store as we didn't want to miss poosibly our only opportunity.

When Jimmy announced in Tampa last month that he would be ending the tour (this fall) in Florida we all felt there would be additional shows. I don't think anyone saw it as an audible potentially changing the entire fall line-up.

Procrastinating on booking Vegas airfare may have paid off this time for us, maybe we'll head to AC for our Buffett Gambling Buffet.

I called the box office at the MGM. Those dates never were on their schedule. The lady there did say he usually plays two shows in October. She said don't panic yet. But she hasn't paid nonrefundable deposit on air tickets and hotel rooms!!  I guess all we can do is just wait. I think like some others have said, with tickets still available for the 16th show there, If they take the other west coast shows off now, maybe those tickets will sell. So, those of you close enough to get there on the 16th, do it!!! Help us geographically challenged parrottheads out!!
